I have given away some old jazz CDs to family, but they can only listen to straight ahead stuff. There is no way to sell music and books offline without being ripped off.

Besides the money concern, CDs I don't like can't be kept in my living room. And I don't have enough storage space to keep CDs and books that disappointed for long. Shipping from the Netherlands is expensive, so I hardly sell on eBay anymore. Only expensive items are worth the effort. Storage space is mostly filled by old Blue Note CD masterings and duplicate Iain M. Banks Culture books. Otherwise it's straight to the garbage/recycling bin.

I am done buying records blindly in most cases. If I cannot preview at least one or two complete tracks for free on the internet, I won't buy a new release. I will never pay for such a privilege. I make an exception for Nessa.

LOL! I respect your opinion, though the 2015 remaster of VH 1 from HD Tracks sounds very good to me. The mixing is what it is, of course.

Not for the first time I thought I'd give a recommended Sonny Rollins Milestone album another shot. Found Isn't She Lovely on YouTube. What a cheesy tune. Ugh! And that guitar! Now I have heard contemporary live recordings of this tune that are better, but I remain convinced the Milestone albums suck except for the occasional track.

SHM-CD from 2016 sounds pretty good to me.

Is it me or did Van Halen only make one studio album that's good from start to finish?

I have it on repeat, so it must be pretty good.
