SICP 30239, release date 11 September, 2013. This Blu-spec 2 contains the original Teo Macero mixed and edited LP version. It is a remaster from 1997. Besides the edits, the mix is different enough from the Wilder remix I'm used to to make this essential. Sound is better than the blue border US eighties CD (noise reduction). Can anyone recommend a CD containing the LP version of Mingus Dynasty other than a blue border eighties US CD? Dynasty was reissued in Japan February 2014, SICP 4003, but the inclusion of the bonus track Strollin' suggests to me this is the remix.

3-5 days means readily available older item. 1-2 days is for newly released CDs that are currently not in stock. 2-4 weeks means order highly likely to be cancelled. In my experience when an 3-5 days item gets cancelled due to delay/unavailability, its status gets changed to 2-4 weeks or out of print afterwards. Also, when you place an order and pay upfront with PayPal it says at the order completion page with the payment method you selected the order can no longer be changed after completion. They give adding items as an example. I assume this includes cancelling available items from an order with unavailable items. In my experience this is an honest, reliable seller. Just make sure you read the information available on their help pages before placing your order.

I've been listening to Turn Out The Stars for the past two days as well. Fortunately for me my musical intelligence is limited and I was able to enjoy the music like I had Consecration in the past. I've hardly listened to Bill Evans for the last seven years and only bought TOTS when Nonesuch reissued it in 2009. I enjoyed being able to hear every nuance of LaBarbera's drumming. On Consecration and Last Waltz his brush work is almost inaudible a lot of the time and I felt like I was listening to piano bass duets. Irritating.

Is it me or is Joe LaBarbera pretty much inaudible a lot of the time on Consecration (and I assume The Last Waltz)? Talk about inferior recording ...

Yes, from the Impulse Albums set Vol. 5 by Hip-O. It was also available as a separate disc over here. Don't know if that was the case in the US. The SHM is OOP and only available at ridiculous prices.

You mean the Originals CD which initially (?) had Welcome in place of Dear Lord like the awful 1993 GRP CD? The recent SHM (UCCI-9202) easily beats the Originals for sound quality (and has Dear Lord as the second track like the LP).
