  3. @Hutchfan about Kühn Trio Love & Peace Not my cup of tea. But I´m not into piano trio format either. Just curious about latest works of our pioneers like Kühn brothers, Heinz Sauer, Manfred Schoof, Hampel etc. To Joachim: I like Kühn without sidemen. Once caught him at a solo concert. Fascinating improvising, Bach lurkin through the keys....

  16. Brave man, great artist in troubled times and beyond. "I ve always liked to listen to his "Rex Casino". The above pictured book, Coco´s moving account of his astonishing life, is a stunning read and thus highly recommended to everybody interested in history, jazz, Berlin, strength of man and of course Coco himself. RIP, Coco Schumann
  17. Lennie Tristano Quartet - Live at the Confucius Restaurant 1955 (Gambit)
  18. Maybe for some obscure, but it´s always worthwhile diggin up some unknown masterly music. IMHO this one, recorded fifteen years ago, surely is a winner; Wilfred Josephs - Works for clarinet (Metier) - Complete beauty but it is the Clarinet Quintet that´s the real stunner - one of the most precious written for this format.
  19. Lars Gullin with Stan Getz´ Swedish All Stars - Flamingo
  20. Wilfred Josephs - Works for Clarinet (Metier) One quintet and two duo sonatas - well worth exploring. Gorgeous music, lyrical, yet expressive 20th century stuff
