  1. Thanks Mike.
  2. I'll probably check this one out fairly soon.
  3. Really looking forward to these. BTW who's the working group on "Silver's Blue"?
  4. Miles Davis-"Bitches Brew". It's hard to analyze in depth. All I can say is that it's dark and funky vibe just resonated with me.
  5. Happy Birthday Dr. Rat!!!! Try Menudo it's the cure for what currently ails you!!!!
  6. I guy I saw who I think qualifies is Paul Butterfield.
  7. Thanks Jim and Thanks Jim!!!!
  8. When Nash put up that hook over Nowitzski I damn near fell out laughing. The Mavs better play hard tomorrow or their sunk.
  9. After his work on all those Horace Silver albums I had to go with Blue but hey I like Joni too!!!!
  10. Maybe they'll record something and give us a better idea about this paticular trio.
  11. Final score Oakland 6 New York 3 (10 innings). I don't think that it will be too long before more changes are made.
  12. Once again Conclave thanks for the tip.
  13. Conclave: I'm not sure that I was terribly convincing but I really do like the Sanchez cd and Poncho just seems to be getting better all the time. While I think that the Samuels "tribute" isn't quite as good as Poncho's it still very good IMO. As for Chombo-I'll just have to look further into his recorded output. It's hard for me to believe that a guy who sounded that good could be so underrecorded but I guess it would hardly be the first time.
  14. Played a Tjader cut every hour I was on the air yesterday. His music just keeps sounding better and better!!!!
  15. Cal Tjader is on the list this day and every day.
  16. Thanks for the tips Conclave. I will definitely investigate. Not meaning to hijack the thread or anyting but do you have any recommendations for Chombo Silva?
  17. Right on JP!!!! Good luck, hang tough and keep us posted!!!!
  18. I don't know if these performances were disposed of because of space considerations or because the persons doing the disposing were people with no foresight -either way they have done a terrible disservice to our cultural legacy.
  19. I have the Poncho and Dave Samuels and both are very nice. That's a great looking lineup for the Louie Ramirez-I'll have to snag that one too.
  20. I know that these have already been released live but I hope Cream recorded these so we can all hear the difference between then and now. I would have really liked to have been in that audience.
  21. Or like Linda Ronstadt said love has no pride. What seems to be eluding this poor guy is that if she ran once she's likely to run again. That's a shaky foundation to build on.
  22. You really do have to be ready to quit. If you're not ready to quit then leave it alone. Nicotine is terribly addicting and you have to be completely ready to rid yourself of the habit or it just doesn't work. I've known people who were long time smokers who quit and while they were going through nicotine withdrawals they were'nt a lot of fun to be around. Hopefully you're not one of them and I hope you have a good support system.
  23. Here's another vote for Cold Turkey. That's how I did it-wasn't easy but I managed to quit smoking. Once you do it try not to pick up the habit again.
