  1. You should get T-shirts. "I'm with Greg <----"
  2. Tom, we all have problems with accomplishing things we set out to do. I know I do... I have a lot of projects on my plate that have yet to be finished (has anyone received their organissimo posters yet? ) One problem of mine is that I tend to not want to delegate responsability. I'd rather try to do everything myself, rather than teach someone how to do it. Which means I oftentimes bite off more than I can chew. I also have problems saying no to family and friends. My brother and I are the computer gurus of the family and so I have someone usually once a week needing me to come over and help with some computer problem. Today my buddy from high school is coming over with a new motherboard for his machine that I will install. Many times these things take the place of other things I should be doing (like dishes, laundry, etc.) and then my wife gets a bit upset that I haven't done what we need done before helping friends. But that's just the way I am. Anyway, good luck... I second the computer calendar or PDA calendar idea if you don't like your handwriting. I use Outlook's calendar and TO DO list and it helps me tremendously since it also syncs with my cell phone.
  3. Thanks for pointing that out. Something got accidentally checked that I didn't intend. Should be back now.
  4. Dude, use the PM function, please. That's what it's here for. Yes, it's because I'm having server issues right now and I don't need another pointless thread about nothing with a bunch of hyperlinks messing with my bandwidth, ok? I don't know how many of your threads have been deleted. I don't keep track.
  5. For the time being, I turned on the "Server Load Limit" option of the board, which means if we have a lot of traffic, you might get a message saying that the board is busy. This should keep things from slowing down to a crawl. Now I just have to call tech support and see what we can do about this.
  6. We seem to be reaching our limits with users. I'm trying to find a way to solve the problem, but the slow-downs have been caused by upwards of 100 connections to the database at one time. Even if the board says "58 users in the past 10 minutes", for some reason it's keeping connections open after the person has left, which is slowing everything down. Give me some time to research the problem. In the meantime, if the board starts dogging heavily, please don't keep trying to access it. Walk away and try again in about 10 minutes. Thanks! ----Jim
  7. I don't know why everyone here is so uppity about "spam". We don't get much of it at all as it is. Kyo, welcome. Don't worry about it. Keep posting.
  8. I cannot blame Davis for what he did and I would expect any professional athlete (or anybody with a family) to do the same thing. I think the NBA should go easy on him but I do agree they need more security for family.
  9. Gosh, even if it helps sell more copies? (which 9 times out of 10 it does). How's that?
  10. At least not until we pay it off, please.
  11. Yep.
  12. I've recently switched from boxers to those things that are a cross between boxers and tighty-whiteys. I don't know what they are called, but they are comfortable and keep the ol' plums warm in the winter months.
  13. Need some pretzels to go with that. I suggest Detroit's own Better Maid: http://www.bettermadepotatochips.com/
  14. We've done these types of gigs before. The absolute minimum is $100 a man. We've even done the "wallpaper before the silent auction" gig for a fundraiser. We got $400 for the trio, which is fair. It's funny that so many times, hiring musicians is a total after-thought. Fundraisers are not the only ones guilty of this... many times, you can tell that some place that claims to have live music did so as an afterthought... ie, crappy "stage" area, caring more about people being able to talk over dinner than the music, etc. It's just the world we live in, I guess.
  15. You abandoned us for awhile, too you goofball.
  16. CDs are digital. Either the sound is there, or it is not. If bumping the computer caused any errors, the disc either would not play or would skip. A warbling sound simply could not happen.
  17. We're still in the Top Ten on WICR. And we're still having no luck with the Jazz Kitchen.
  18. No, snow is better because it means it is cold which means that my roof won't leak in the garage and my cabinets won't get wet. Right now I have to check on them to make sure the water isn't getting underneath (I have tarps over them all, but as the water pools on the floor, it wants to go under the cabinets).
  19. Another funny thing I just remembered: Zora likes Hi-5, which is on TLC (I think) in the early morning and the weird thing is one of the actors on the show went to high school with me. It's very strange seeing him dancing around and singing on the TV every morning. http://www.hi-5us.com/ He's the light haired kid. Just think... he's my age (28). He doesn't look a day over 18.
  20. Up with this old thread because my daughter is now almost 2 and enjoys watching The Wiggles and now lately The Wiggles Show (which I gather is different than "The Wiggles".) Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, The Wiggles Show features The Little Wiggles. Usually little kids are cute, but these sketches are so forced as to be just embarassing. I refuse to let Zora watch Barney, even though she somehow knows who he is... maybe momma lets her watch it on the weekends when I'm sleeping. So, has anyone been to a Wiggles live show? Seems to me that would be the ultimate form of torture (although probably mercifully short).
  21. I can't believe it's raining again. Yesterday it was bone-cold. Now it's raining... again. I have an entire garage of kitchen cabinets waiting to go up, a contractor that has disappeared, and my garage roof leaks. The cabinets have been there since just after Christmas and in those few weeks it has rained 80% of the time. In Michigan, in January... rain rain rain. Give me a break.
  22. We can't figure it out either. Maybe they'll be a little more receptive now that we've played The Green Mill.
  23. Ah, you have to pay... and I'm sure it's all legal. Buh bye, spam-a-lot.
