Try taking out the tubes and putting them back in again or just jiggling them. There's only what, two tubes in there? But if they sit for a long time the pins could oxidize a bit.

Pistons were basically playing with 7 guys last year and you could tell that after battling the Pacers, the Heat, and then fighting for a game 7 vs. the Spurs, they were just downright tired. I still don't understand why they aren't getting much love from the press considering they were only 8 points away from a repeat and they definitely improved in the off-season.

Most drives use seperate lasers to read and write, so whether it still reads a disc doesn't matter. If it won't recognize media that it normally has no problem with, it probably is dead. What brand?

Sorry everyone, I've been away from the computer all day. Had to work on the kitchen project. I replied to all the PM's. To answer the questions, the Adcom GFP-750 does not have a phono stage, however I have a really nice McCormack pre-amp ($500 new) that I will throw in for another $250. The people at North Country claim that it's the best under-$1000 phono pre you can buy. The Adcom pre-amp has the original box, manual, and remote. The CD72 came out in 2000, I believe. It does not decode HDCDs. I did listening tests between it, the new Rega that came out at the same time, and the Musical Fidelity (can't recall the model). For my speakers, the Arcam sounded the best to my ears. I paid $900. I have no idea what it's worth now, so make an offer. It does have a really nice DAC.

And shit, I might as well sell the rest of it. Adcam 5400 power amp and an Arcam CD72 CD player. Make me offers. Let's get a new refridgerator/dishwasher for our new kitchen!!! YAY!

But I will ship internationally. I also have an Adcom GFP-750 preamp if anyone is interested. It was in the Stereophile Recommended Components section (under Class A Preamps) for years and years. It is truly a fantastic stereo, no-frills preamp. Make me an offer.

As some of you might recall, we are re-doing our kitchen right now. Money is tight, gigs are light (or non-paying) and I'm forced to sell my beloved B&W CDM1 SE bookshelf speakers. I bought these new about 6 years ago. They have been in storage for about a year, since Zora kept wanting to knock them over (she did not succeed, thankfully). I have all the original packaging, the manuals, etc. They are in pristine condition and sound fabulous. Very tight, good bass for a bookshelf speaker, great imaging, wide soundstage. GREAT speakers for listening to jazz and/or classical. Brand new they were $1250 for the pair. I'd like to get $650 out of them, but it seems the market is at around $550. But mine are real purdy. So $600, including shipping, and they are yours. For $650 I'll throw in a 12' pair of bi-wired Audioquest Type IV speaker wire. PM me or email me if ya want 'em. UP because I still think this record kicks ass! And I just heard that Ron joined the SNL band! That must be a nice gig. I think my favorite tunes off this disc are "Invocation" and "Dance of Passion". That is interesting about the Johnny Griffin arrangement, but does not surprise me. Ron is a big Griffin fan.

I haven't ordered this yet... waiting to find something else on CDBaby to order. But I might just take the plunge. I'm really curious to hear the piano/organ combination, as this is a sound that I really love.
