  1. Joe, Randy and I were going to go see this when it came through Michigan (I believe this Thursday) but we got offered a gig and I can't turn down gigs right now. Money is tight. Enjoy!
  2. Yeah, one of my neighbors was leaf-blowing his garage roof yesterday, too. I racked six bags yesterday, which only cleaned about 1/4 of my yard (which is still the size of a postage stamp). We removed two big pine trees this summer, which I think must've acted as a buffer against leaves blowing in from neighbor's yards. Now that they are no longer there, I think the whole neighborhood's leaves are coming into my yard. Today it's too windy to rake. I'll continue tomorrow.
  3. they get no money from illegal downloads of their music. ← I got ya. It was phrased rather funky, though.
  4. Another gem from last night: "This just goes to show that basketball is 100% physical and 100% mental." His co-announcer (can't recall who it was) just sat silent for a few moments and then said, "That doesn't make sense. How can it be 100% physical AND 100% mental. That makes 200%" Walton then replies, "Oh you're comparing apples to oranges."
  5. But c'mon, you can buy the new Soulive record.
  6. Maybe you should look into that.
  7. Is Bill Walton the absolute worst announcer in the history of the game? Christ, we're not even out of the 1st quarter and he's already said gems like this: "The Blazers have a commanding three point lead!" 3 points is considered commanding!??! "The Blazers are taking it to the Pistons! What is Flip Saunders going to do about this!?" This is when the Pistons were behind by... oh shit... FIVE POINTS!!!! "I'm not ready to give up on the Pistons yet." Said with 5 minutes left in the first quarter and the Pistons down by 2. What a frickin' moron.
  8. Ok, but I don't understand that. What do the musicians have to do with downloading?
  9. I'd like to know what makes you think this because other than the infamous Metallica/Napster debacle, I don't think the majority of musicians/artists support copy-protection at all. This seems to be the doing of the labels in order to "protect" their investment. Besides, if the musicians were really clamoring for copy-protection, do you think the majors would actually spend all this money to develop it? When do they ever give a shit what the musicians want?
  10. Maybe you were hallucinating that Shaq was playing. Guy ← I don't care if Shaq wasn't playing. The team I saw last night looked scared and lost out there. I'm blown away that they actually won. Well, no I'm not. Dwayne Wade is the real deal. But the rest of the guys looked pitiful. Anyone see that hellacious put-back by Big Ben in the 3rd? That was crazy large crazy stupid whack crazy. In that order.
  11. All right, y'all... give some love to the Pistons!!!
  12. To explain further, while I agree with Kunstler on many things, he seems to be very conservative in his view towards some buildings. My main complaint about "modern" architecture is not with designs like Gehry (designs that take chances) but rather with cheaply made, cheap-looking, disposable buildings. At least Gehry is designing something interesting.
  13. Well, thinking in such a way could be a very severe handicap.
  14. Watching the Rockets vs. the Heat while waiting for the Detroit/Phoenix game to start. I haven't seen the Heat yet this season. These are the guys that are supposed to win the East?!? Ooookkkay.
  15. Kunstler also doesn't care for Frank Gehry, obviously. My wife loves Gehry... I haven't made up my mind yet. Some of his stuff is cool, some of it is pretty ugly, imo.
  16. Just went back and read your initial post... didn't realize it was so quick. Could still be a tube, but probably a cap or something fizzled out. Or it could be a bad connection on the jack (those solder joints can sometimes break). I'm sure its something simple, though. Not much in there to break.
  17. He's probably been looking for ways to get cash to pay the settlements all this time. "I know! I'll go after those damn kareoke m*****f*****s!"
  18. Well, that didn't do it. I'm taking it to the doctor tonight. ← Probably just a bad tube then. I'm sure it will be an easy fix.
  19. I don't have one but I also have a very small yard and thankfully a friend gave us an electric mower this summer which works just fine. The only annoyance is the cord, but its a small price to pay for something that works and doesn't stink.
  20. Since we already have computers making music, this is the next logical step... computers critiquing said music. Next, music made FOR computers!!!
  21. What a bullshti stoyr. I was bron in May and I'm fnie.
  22. There's only so much you can do with the obligatory abusive drill sargeant role.
  23. I agree with you about hockey, Jim. Pistons put the hurt on the Kings last night. Tayshaun is lighting it up!! I'm glad to hear Okur is doing good with the Jazz. I was bummed when he got traded from Detroit. I always liked what he brought to the game.
  24. The caps could need replacing. The farting noise could be one shorting out after it gains a full charge. That is an easy thing to fix and I could do it if you don't want to pay someone to do it.
