  1. "Hey guys, blues in G... 1...2...3..." 6 minutes later... "Shuffle in F" 6 minutes later "Minor blues in C"
  2. You're just figuring that out? Noj, the Pistons have won their last 10 games. They are gearing up for another title run. Y'all need to show some love.
  3. When the Pistons were playing the Lakers in the Finals last year, the second game in LA was on TV whilst Organissimo was playing. I was calling out simple tunes and on total autopilot for that whole game!
  4. Two Leslies. How I wish I could tour with two Leslies. I'm bummed we couldn't open for him on Saturday. Anyone here see the show?
  5. This place averages over 600 posts a day... that's not enough to read?!?
  6. Static will hurt computers for sure. Audio electronics (analog ones, that is) on the other hand, are fine.
  7. A little static will probably not hurt your tonearm, if that's what your worried about.
  8. I'll look into it.
  9. When will you learn, SS1? What was that sound? Oh, that's the sound of 10 in a row by the "chumpions".
  10. Y'all just wait until the next Organissimo CD is released... it's gonna be at the top of the Greaze-O-Meter!
  11. Hey man... I don't know if there are any electronics folks here, but check out the www.groupdiy.com forum. There are a lot of audio nutballs over there, building mics, preamps, EQs, synths, etc.
  12. Yes, thanks for asking. My wife went back to work at the beginning of this month, part-time. They put her on a new medication called Topomax. The Neurontin wasn't helping. This Topomax stuff is at least relieving her headache, although she says the numbness now seem more prevalent... probably because she's not concentrating on her headache! She's only on half the dosage that she'll eventually be on... they are ramping it up slowly. So far, so good. No one knows what is wrong with her still, but at least she's able to get back to living her life with some feeling of normalcy. She is still totally wiped out after work, however.
  13. Just some more photos from the sessions. These are from Tuesday afternoon, taken by my friend Greg Polsdorfer. Joe doing his thang on the Hofner. Randy practicing for his solo on "Brother Ray". Yes, Randy really plays with sunglasses on. Make it black and white, and you may have a Blue Note-esque cover!
  14. Not true at all. Listen to the stuff on the Jimmy Smith Mosaic box from a few years ago... Jimmy could and did go outside the lines on many occasions.
  15. Ha! I'm still the only one that voted for McGriff. He grooves like nobody else. The cat can play. Those records on the Sue label are BAD! That said, my favorite is still Jimmy Smith. He's the man.
  16. America Drinks and Goes Home Nah. I say Peaches in Regalia. again??? Is there another organ trio that's done it?
  17. I don't know where you fine folks are planning on eating, but my wife, a good high school friend that lives on the upper west side, and I all ate at this amazing place in the Village called Moustache. Great meditteranean/Greek food. Best hummus I've ever had in my life.
  18. I have one not much younger. A 1939 or 1940 BCV.
  19. Yeah, but Cornell is bad. If it was $5, I'd think about it. For $20 it's not worth it.
  20. Have fun, folks!!! Wish I could be in Manhattan this weekend instead of up in Petoskey, MI. Boo! My wife and I met maren when we were in NYC in February. She's a sweet gal!
  21. I don't see why that would factor into it.
  22. Joe's. Granted, the guy can do whatever he wants... it's his club. But didn't somebody just start a thread on the popularity of jazz? We hear time and time again how jazz only accounts for 1-2% of CD sales in the US. Why? Because of people with attitudes like Joe's.
  23. And thus we see, in full bloom, the attitude that is killing "jazz". Put it safely away in academia or the museum and keep it away from the streets, for its own good!!!!!!!!
  24. Too late for these kids... This should be construed as child abuse. The "parents" of these poor kids are basically dooming them to a lifetime of health problems, not to mention the psychological and self-esteem issues. The more I think about it, the angrier I get.
