  1. So I'm watching Mr. Rogers while taking care of Zora and he just played some real cool music that he had on tape of Eric Kloss with organ and piano (very modern sounding recording) and said that later in the episode he's going to visit Eric!!! Whoa! Mr. Rogers is a hip cat! I never knew Eric appeared on Mr. Rogers. It looks like this show is from the mid-80s or so. Anyone seen this?
  2. So their complaint is that it cost them a lot of money to take it down? Ok... just how much do they think it'll cost to put it back up and who do they think is going to foot that bill?
  3. I heard this yesterday. RIP. A little known fact is that Leslie also invented Mercotac, a rotating electrical contact first used in his later speakers but now used in medical equipment, robotics, and more. Mercotac
  4. I was wrong. The Magic Bag is still operational but caters mainly to national acts. I was thinking of the Music Menu, which is indeed defunct.
  5. Don't talk about Donny. Makes me almost cry just thinking about it.
  6. A lot of great cats have come through, mainly at the Magic Bag. I saw Jimmy Smith there a couple years ago. However, back in December (I think), we played a benefit and talked to the club manager and he said they were closing.
  7. I thought the Magic Bag was gone. What else is in Royal Oak? I used to play there with my R&B band but the town didn't strike me as a jazz town.
  8. Crap, it does say "right" doesn't it? My bad.
  9. Thanks, ejp626! I will look into those!
  10. Oops... sorry J Larsen. I guess I was so shocked by the first paragraph the second part didn't register. My apologies.
  11. Wow. I didn't know it ranked better than "Two Against Nature". I'll definately have to go pick it up.... maybe tomorrow! Thanks!
  12. but, I am not a moderator! Perhaps it should be entitled topic deletion? You are a moderator in the sense that you can delete your own threads. And no, it's not a mac thing. I'm using a PC.
  13. I've been on a major Dan kick lately. I listened to all their classic 70s releases this weekend while tuning my recording monitors. Some people find them too slick but they've always been hip as hell to me. How is the newest one? I have not heard it yet. I liked "Two Against Nature" a lot.
  14. I'm just kind of surprised you didn't call the cops or something. Or is this common place in NY?
  15. From the useful but never read Organissimo FAQ: Q: How do I delete an entire thread that I created? A: Towards the bottom right of all posts within the thread itself is a pull down menu labeled "Moderation Options". Use the command "Delete thread" within that menu. NOTE: You can only delete threads that you initially created.
  16. Brecker: Yeah, yeah, yeah Pat.... I know how you feel about Kenny G already and I AGREE WITH YOU, MAN! Sheesh!!
  17. Looks like fun!
  18. Cool old thread! Funny how I had two wedding gigs last year over Labor Day weekend... had the same thing this weekend except I didn't do the second wedding gig with my R&B band but instead played a cool jazz gig with Organissimo! Woot! Good money weekend!
  19. You mean Chopzilla?
  20. If you want to do graphic design work, get a G5 with the fastest dual processors you can afford. Those machines are incredible.
  21. Yes, but I can see you! Mwa ha ha ha!
  22. Instrumental music doesn't sell anymore? Tell that to Kenny G!
  23. I haven't heard from Bill in a long time. Good to know Dan has been in contact with him. Happy B-day Bill!
  24. Rotel makes real nice stuff. I have an Arcam which I like a lot, but I don't know if they make a line around 200-300 dollars.
