  1. Do I need to outline the basics of common sense in the rules, too? If an offending post is removed, any posts that reference the removed post should also be removed. That's just common sense. I really can't believe we're wasting time with this. Hans is doing a great job keeping things tidy around here. It's fine to "check the checkers" but there is no abuse of power here. In all honesty, this appears to be a personal grudge masquerading as a forum problem.
  2. This is seriously worth a complaint?
  3. See my reply on the other thread. To wit: You need a tech and a 6122 kit.
  4. Haha! Cute! To connect a C3 to a 122 yes you need a 6122 kit. You should also have a tech do it for you if you're not familiar and comfortable with electronics. There's 300+ volts DC running inside a Hammond (B+ voltage) and the Leslie and it can easily kill you if you don't know what you're doing.
  5. I assume they have the live CD, then. Very cool!
  6. No, I don't want to continue this because it's obviously a waste of time. For someone who accused me of being self-righteous, you're certainly propped way up there on that high horse.
  7. I have a better idea. Why don't you go start your own forum, since this one is "sooooooo unfair" and then you can run it however you want. And yes "why don't you man up and ban me" is a cheap shot. You want to talk about bullshit? Re-read your posts in this thread. I've already "manned up" and admitted I was wrong about your joke and apologized. Why don't you man up and apologize for being completely unreasonable? You accuse me of piousness and self-righteousness and you're the one acting like the wounded, spurned outcast.
  8. Maybe next time you're rushing to defend someone oh masked stranger, remember to bring along your sense of humour. It doesn't make your point at all, it just means you have even less of a sense of humour when you're being self righteous. Or maybe it means it wasn't very funny. I've read a lot worse things on here, some of the directed at me, yet strangly they didn't seem to bother you at all, kinda makes my point, doesn't it? Or maybe it means that I don't see every single post on here. I have other things to do. If you think a comment is out of line, please report it. Thanks for finally admitting that, I was almost becoming a little paranoid there, and seeing as my opinionated and curmudgeonly behaviour is so abhorrent to you and probably the community at large, maybe you should just man up and ban me? Go on, it will make you feel much better. Or maybe I should forget about trying to find some common ground with you and not worry about it. Again, I have other things to do. I really don't lose sleep over what you think of me or Chuck. I do know that you're completely wrong about him (as others have already attested to) but that evidently means nothing to you because you've already decided he's an asshole. Your loss. Any more cheap shots?
  9. That's great! Just as we were going to get on XM with Groovadelphia, they merged with Sirius and the station (and DJ) we were going to be on got axed. Nice to hear we're finally getting some airplay. I bet it won't show up on ASCAP. Thanks for letting us know!
  10. Happy Birthday, Chris!
  11. Ok, so in my rush to defend Chuck I missed an "obvious" joke. I apologize. Though it kinda makes my point, doesn't it? This is still a shitty thing to say, anyway you cut it: And yes, I am biased towards certain members here, including Chuck, Allen, and Dan, because I've had the pleasure of meeting them in real life and they're all really nice guys that I would love to hang with again. And you're probably the same way, but you come across just as opinionated and curmudgeonly as Chuck can, imo. So pot, meet kettle.
  12. If I focused on any of this shit, I'd never get anything done. Better to create and let the cards fall where they may. I make music because it's the best way I have of expressing myself. If no one else listens to it or likes it, oh well. My dad wrote literally 1000's of songs (with lyrics) that nobody outside of our immediate family has ever really heard. He wrote them for himself, to work through his own demons and celebrate his life, wife, and children. He never cared about what anyone else thought, he enjoyed them and enjoyed the process. That's pretty much where I'm at except I have the audacity to release the shit. As for the original theme of this thread, of course the music should be taken on it's own terms, but you don't have to diss other music to do it. I've never understood that attitude. It happens in all genres with the fanboys, but it's a dead end.
  13. Is this a joke, too? Funny how we can make sweeping judgments about each other from pixels on a computer screen, isn't it?
  14. What's funny is that artists don't worry about any of this shit. They just create. You like it or you don't. Who gives a fuck?
  15. Yes, Chuck is living in a 200 room mansion with butlers and maids attending to his every whim solely based on the millions of dollars he rakes in by releasing atonal avant-garde experimental jazz (always a hit with the kids!) on vinyl and CD. Since he makes so much money and doesn't have to worry about the normal earthly quandries of mouth breathers like you and I, he instead spends his time posting pointed jabs at us, the mere peons on this board, jabs that are purposely curt and vague so that folks like you can hide behind an alias and assuredly proclaim that he's a total asshole without ever actually meeting him in person.
  16. Because music is a competitive sport, Jim. Don't you know that?
  17. Good thing there's still time! Wes Montgomery with Jimmy Smith. What a great combo. Grant Green with Larry Young. Another great combo.
  18. Best comment from below the video:
  19. I don't know what time we go on right now (probably will in a day or two) but I imagine since we're the biggest act on the bill, we're the headliner and will go on last. I will be playing Hammond and piano. I don't know if I'll be playing my own rig (which is the Hammond XK3 and Leslie 21 system) or if the festival is providing backline. Again, I should know in a few days. It would be great to meet you in flesh!
  20. Jerry, yes I'm the same "Jim" but I don't have any tweaks for the XK1. I don't own an XK1, just an XK3 and an XM2. Sorry. I don't really know what it takes to get to the drawbars either, but I take stuff apart all the time. If you're not comfortable, I guess the next step is to find a service center somewhere around you.
  21. We're tentatively in Ft. Lauderdale in February. If that date sticks (the 12th), there will probably be some other Florida dates around it.
  22. Jerry, I don't know if spraying contact cleaner in the drawbar is a good idea or not. I haven't examined the drawbars in the XK series. If it's sticking but otherwise working well, maybe taking it apart and lubricating it with some silicon might help.
  23. I agree with catesta. What if you're the passenger in the car? You can't talk on the cell, either? Some people can talk and drive just fine. Some can't. Punishing everyone for the stupidity of a few is silly. Banning texting while driving is a no-brainer but how can you enforce it? Again, the method Kevin outlines can't distinguish between a driver and a passenger. Sometimes I get really into listening to the radio, usually a talk show like This American Life and I realize that I haven't really been paying much attention to the road. So are we going to ban radios and music? Ban eating? Ban looking at a GPS unit? This is interesting:
