JazzKat, I highly recommend that you go back and check out the earlier stuff, starting with Black Market, then working your way back. Before long you'll probably be obsessed. Though frankly, I'm suprised you don't at least like Havona from HW.

Actually the fact that I'm working with this at all is a gift. Yesterday I picked up my guitar and that scale was the first thing I played. I thought it was immediately attractive, and the first order of business for me was to just get the fingerings up and down the neck, finding the sweet spots. Next, I'll investigate the different possible uses for it. If you find some more hip stuff in there, let me know - I'll do the same.

I was gonna work my way up to that.

Is there a name for the pentatonic scale that proceeds: 1 3 4 5 b7 ? It has a nice ethnic sort of sound to it.

Just curious if any of you guys know how the placement of the upper strap peg thingy affects the tilt of the guitar. On my Ibanez, it's placed in back at the base of the neck, while my Epiphone has it on the edge of the body above the neck. When I stand up holding the Epiphone, the back edge cuts into my ribs, which is a bit uncomfortable. The Ibanez seems to hang straighter. Just wondering if that's the cause, and if moving the strap holder on the Epiphone would do the trick.
