  1. You mean you're not enlightened yet? Wake up, man!
  2. I wondered about that the first time I saw him with Remember Shakti. I could barely understand him when he spoke, whereas Zakir Hussein sounded almost American.
  3. I like the "outline" feature at the top of the page. Very handy for finding a post.
  4. Only a nut like you would notice that, CJ.
  5. I saw the first when it came out... loved it!
  6. I never, in a million years, would have thought to put those three together. I like Bela, but I'm not overly optimistic about this trio. Could be wrong, though.
  7. god don't get me started on Green Shit. They're about as punk as I am black. Sellout wankers. Going corporate and raking in the cash is the new punk.
  8. What about Funky President? :rsmile: Seriously, don't forget "There It Is!" Layin' in the cut!!
  9. Nice to hear from you!
  10. I assume you're talking about Part l... I was delighted to hear Rodby playing an uptempo walking bassline as well. The unison line played by the trumpet and guitar is a kick, too. I think my favorite moment is in part 2, where they come out of those chord arpeggios into the melody played by the harmonica (forshadowing the end with Richard Bona's vocals), then playing the same melody but switching to 5 underneath. Pretty cool music there.
  11. Sorry, dude. I'll use less saccharine and more sarcasm in the future.
  12. I just realized that your thread subtitle says, "announced", rather than "pronounced". I thought you were giving me some pronunciation advice on the word "Zooma".
  13. You mean before someone goes ?
  14. Noted. Thanks for the tip!
  15. And we're blessed to have some documentation of that.
  16. It's not just you.
  17. Beh... who needs it?
  18. Don't know if you were aware that Metheny did an album with Larry Goldings. Mike Brecker was the leader; it's called Time is of the Essence.
  19. There's a band out here that would be perfect: Root Doctor. Contact Jim Alfredson.
  20. Kinda scary, huh Moose? The guy on the right looks like Alan Holdsworth.
  21. A gat? Certainly not a coat. Not yet, anyway...
  22. Joe G

    Stevie Wonder

Don't know who that helps, but...
  23. """" what the hell all weekend No doubt; I'm still going strong!
  24. Thanks Paul, and everybody! I almost hate to admit it, but I've been all by my lonesome for the majority of the day. But that's not all bad; I enjoy solitude, too. On my lunchbreak, I walked over to Beaner's and had a very good (and very rich) piece of chocolate cake with a coffee. Then after work I had dinner at my favorite Mexican restaurant, came home and opened up a beer. Then I fell asleep on the couch listening to music. Not exactly party central, but I guess it's like the song says: all my rowdy friends have settled down. Or moved out of state... I enjoyed watching this thread grow all day while at work. You all brought a smile to my face. Much love to everybody here.
