  1. Yeah! Get someone on this asap! With Blue Note going all pop you might think that these excellent forrays into the blues w/ Dr. John, Stevie Ray etc... might warrant an easy print ad for a nice price twofer!!
  2. and always ask for the small glove!
  3. I have not thought much of this stuff since the late seventies but "Low Spark" was one of those tunes an older buddy and vietnam vet turned me on to (& certainly not just that lp ). Well since all my vinyl is at rest with nothing to play them on I loaded up the cut from iTunes - 11:44 for $.99!!! - and am listening now. What a great great piece. Now I'm trying to figure out how to download something that might enhance the mood as was done in the old days.
  4. Was Winwood something like 17 when they recorded the first SDG hits? One helluva garage band!
  5. Yes Alanzo for certain! I've only watched a handful and missed the last one and aces for the gal from Cleveland!! easy po easy for sure... she'll be getting a gig on prime time via all this I betcha! She's just gotta give up the tired Italian / Mafia schtick and she's there! Other funniest is that sort of droll guy who's name I can't remember and the least funny is the tall guy from Boston who always starts out with how tall he is, and sheesh he ain't even that tall?! One of my favorites jokes so far was from that 'cro-magnon' Steven Wright: "I had alphabet soup last nite and this morning I had a vowel movent." a keeper!
  6. answers? we don't need no steeenkink answers... yet! but how about some clues ... esp on 4 and 10??? and maybe pointing us to who might be barking down the alley.
  7. Curious if ya'll might wax a bit about the pianist from track #5 - Luiz Carlos Vinhas! Just a tremedous sound. I have only experienced one of the Bossa Tres albums - "Em Forma" (& not that I'm a big acid jazzer, but I even hear the root of a sample from them used by the group United Future Organization that I just always assumed was Blakey and the Mssngrs) - and am just knocked out by his style. A Silver schooled head with the hammerin' hands of Tristano. I know JimR has recommended the group within his Hard Bossa thread but I need more of this guy!!!
  8. and read the MMW release coming in a month ... there are even folks from the "axeees of eeephil" that have heard it already!!!! blue note is slowing catching on the the "Dusty Groove meets Thom Jurek at Downtown Music Gallery" novellas.
  9. hit me up doc! mail sent
  10. "Swift-boat veterans for Anita Hill" !!!!
  11. then you'd be the "waif".
  12. so, to the ears in the know - what's the comparison / advantage of the Victor VICJ issues to our domestic K-2s?? thanks
  13. I FOUND A LITTLE SNIP OF ARIC AND MARY UP AT THE MOTEL!
  14. Perused this too at one time. You must have a valid bank or credit card issued to that specific country to buy.
  15. Up. So Marcus sends discs around the globe and so far only fifteen folks care to have a go? Or has it all been figured out? #10, #10, #10 ... and 2 / 6 / 8 / 9 / 13
  16. Just my ducats. I think "Judgement" is at the very top of my heap. You must take the piece as a whole for the absolute beauty between Hill and Hutcherson. (and that piece should be w/o question the new JRVG+ version as the TOCJ just was not up to snuff. It was sooo audibly low (while almost too much so) that the increased boost via the jRVG treatment really sets that one apart. Crisp and clean w/o the shrillness as usual w/ those.) SmokeStack is a whole other ballgame.
  17. and what's she doing messin' with just Vili... I'm figuring she'd go more for the Fauve!!! Then again reading her literacy challenged letter snips makes me wonder why she was put in a teaching position in the first place.
  18. ... and it sounds like she caught quite a nasty Nabo-cough in the cooler.
  19. Where'd you see this? it was right on the right in the vault main page within iTunes. as I could not cut and paste and was too lazy to type verbatim but it tells us that you better hurry!!!! kind of like those limited edition connoissuer series things.
  20. since when is such a mad hatter party "too out there" for you?! Are you in love or something? All of a sudden salivating over the Loussier and declining the gathering behind the Kaempfert residence as too weird for comfort. I wasn't really salivating was I. And the only "Kaempferts" I've heard were from Blazing Saddles.
  21. I see the disclaimer on iTunes sez that a new batch is coming in two weeks and mor added every month but these are for a "limited time only"
  22. Dang. Just go to Boss Bird from Quincy's '..Bag' or Soul Sister from Lateef's ''84' or Desmond's lady in Cement from 'Summertime' and tell me you can't resist.
