  1. Don't know. I didn't take the pic, I got it from Google. Poor example, I know. so now google is to blame for your choice among the images it provides but it goes nicely with them poe-nails from your water-balloon cache.
  2. and i found this little WAVE file movie too! plus proof that the beach really does sing.

  4. Obviously just trying to look over the "wall".
  5. keep extensive notes and over-prescribe!
  6. check the data that carrying an iPod equates 562 pounds of vinyl. or giving a piggyback ride to the recently maligned pugilisticritic.
  7. Wow! Truly an ear and now eye opening BFT. Nothing at all recognizable by me except for the altoist on track four occasionally takes my change when hunting up discs at a certain Cambridge record store. Have to get back down into town and check them at "work". The foil track #10 was a bit obscure to say the least but aren't those gems the best. I will now peruse with all the notes at hand. Thanks for the disc, Nate, and hopefully I won't be able to find any of these.
  8. Passed judgement too soon. But not certain yet. Dats a good one... and as far as googling via the new AMG is concerned: FTS,PBR! - Frank Booth
  9. Sheesh, and here I was racking for some unknown Monk song ... of course, been flopping and scratching on this. Wonderful how just pulling that little tidbit of melody and unfolding it into what becomes an entirely new composition just shows that the root of this is DEEP. Someone with real ears please elaborate on this. Slap! Now back to #12, and yet more monk-ying around, that has me testing the chair springs.
  10. Here I thought this guy was a crackpot. Whatever I've heard of him makes me turn the box off as fast as I can. Now do you think he puts up some quotes from "Madmoiselle Mabry" as well, or was it the other way around??
  11. I love this! Juliette might need a little shot of "Soft and Dry".
  12. "Hey...what's this thread about anyway?"
  13. Datz some pretty ballsy segue-in' there!
  14. well since i just did a scan through i can say that the musicality is supreme. Garrick and Rendell are stunning. the sound (mastering) is out freeking standing. it is the addition of Winstone in the front line that is not my cup of tea. i really loved that "Jaipur" cut from 'impressed one' but i get a bit off put by this type of work. she has a truly beautiful voice and it's reminding me of say Jay Clayton more than Gene Lees ... very, very different and almost without compare. i just have a hard time and i'd rather it not be on. if however you like her vocalizations then you are up for a treat as the boys in the band are doing just fine. not to sound too much like a "bastard" - heady stuff with a big bit of a modal groove on.
  15. If anyone would like to take Michael Garrick's "Troppo" off of my hands I'd welcome an offer. Fresh from the Bastards and only in the player for a run through. PM me ... Seriously!
  16. After having exposure to some cuts from couw's blindfold test as well as a whetting via Tooter's Ronnie Ross discog, the Hans Wewerka catalogue is now being introduced at The Bastards. A good price for what looks to be some great works. Those in the real know can advise most completely!
  17. banner tells me that it does not support Safari via Mac. switched to Netscape 7 and it does run a bit faster there. they now ask for registration if you care to look beyond one or two tabs. truly a major foul up that will hopefully be fixed soon for all. listed some stuff on ebay and could not access it for ripping them off for all their beautifully penned Jurekxaggerated prose.
  18. Shant his jacket be RED? Plus that guy's late for the party.
  19. This is regional entertainment, for me. Ooops...forgot to post just what those pinatas are filled with but you must already know.
  20. MuslimGauze started their own intifadah over 25 years ago. The doctor is late.
  21. ... sure, but just be prepared for what awaits you!
  22. Love for some more questions and answers at random too! The only time I peruse the 'other' board is to swim throught the various threads in general discussion and discographies that cover British jazz. Bev, PD and the others are truly rife with knowledge here. I'd love to see a thread take off that covered this genre as much as the recent Brazilian/Hard Bossa! I sprang for the Impressed 2 and can say it's a very, very solid disc with Mosaic quality notes that makes one thirst for more. Now I can only hope that all those Fontana Tubbies were available in one shot!
