  1. yeah, where is that "crying smiley"? and do check out the (now) wife's "package".
  2. Sonny and Cher circa 1989: It's the nails baby!
  3. Remind me never to ask you: "does this dress make me look fat?" ...and ARIC where the hell have you been ya whippersnapper? You should have been privy to Barbara in the early eighties when she was a bit fresher and her teeth were smaller and her lips were bigger!
  4. 11:30 AM 5/13/04 - 200 left... where's the breath a little easier with pants' pockets unfurled smiley?
  5. While poor b3-er is fending off the right wings like Bobby Hull I thought he might like to take a look at this piece of marvelous architecture. Typical Gehry wacked perspective! ORGAN There is even a video link.
  6. Where's Shurdlu to let us know what this means?
  7. When you pull the TRIGGER the least of one's worrie's is "what he sez?".
  8. While readying to pull the trigger on "All Music", I was googling around and found this tidbit from a Steely Dan Fan page:
  9. on the other hand i think chix really dig on this: i googled the lead in and the only one that really stuck was the first.
  10. I used to, and thankfully have not had it for a while, this re-occurring dream that I blew off an intense calculus test in high school, subsequently failing me and thus prior to not being able to graduate I wake up in a sweat. Well, I just received "Multiplication Table" yesterday from a DMG sale and put it through one spin. That nightmare was back. PM me if interested in a freshly spun but mint copy. I'll be out clapping erasers.
  11. ...and then in Japan they go and put it under "D".
  12. ...and it has a sonically speelendeed take of the frantically bounceable title cut from your obelisk-arific avatar and the only palce to get it on disc! and btw the (short and all i've heard) track "Ursula" from Michael Garrick is an outstanding modal Guaraldi-ism that would sit very well if the Peanuts gang crossed the sea.
  13. Growing on me is that Bainbridge Trio from Audio Fidelity (they need to work on that cheapo logo they gots). I had picked up the M&I Hi Bit Hyper Master a couple years back and they were not only Hi but the tape hiss is a bit Hyper as well. The Hoffman put's it all in it's place - while mixing up the sequencing - but boy what a sound here. I must find some time to get me down to the stereo store to hear the SACD layer. I've been re-revisiting "Leapin and Lopin" recently and hitting up a direct shot for 15 minutes of pure Higgins pleasure: "voodoo" / "midnite mambo".
  14. If you can find this " Trip To Brazil: 40 Years of B N" Motor Music Germany 2 CD compilation it's well worth the hunt... perfectly mastered. and don't forget some of the more forward looking brasil: Gilberto Gil Caetano Veloso Tom Ze Arto Lindsay Marisa Monte Carlinhos Brown ... and a perfectly done piece by Ryuichi Sakamoto with the Morelenbaums recorded at Jobim's pad: and a CTI send up!
  15. What Shipp / Ware disc? ubu? I see that Shipp, Parker and Guillermo Brown have a disc coming : Nate... be interested to get your take on the bestest Ware of em all. I've liked several cuts off of the few of his sides I have heard (flight of i, gospellized, go see the world) but I have to be in such a 'mood' that I don't go there as often as I should. And of all of Shipp's ThirstyEar discs I have to say that after it all wears off a bit, "Equilibrium" will stand up as my go to session.
  16. Oh man you just glazed my cruller! (as they say)
  17. My latest avatar choice is, i believe, based on a "Weird-Ohs" model kit from the 60's. There was a spin off of Big Daddy Roth's stuff and some crazy vinyl one color shots of crazy characters in weird poses called "Nutty Mads" but i can't seem to find any reference to the beatnik. Any help is appreciated as to what these really are. I'd love to have this baby on the shelf!! I did find some LPs-
  18. just about the same. they opened a Krispy Kreme up here a few months back and my mother-in-law went for some free samples ... mini donuts they were... and brought them to our house when she was to baby sit. a couple hours later the wife and i get a call at the restaurant from our eight year old, who has never had a real donut in her life, all wigged out with fluttering heart beats and a bad stomach. she had eaten about three of them babies in a row cause they were soooo goood. luckily it all passed and she was calmed by mom's encouraging guidance to breath right on through those donut tremens. man she was sugar buzzed to the maxx and has luckily sworn off even going near any type of donut emporium from here on out!
  19. Just Googled up the second coming of the ever Bev-er popular Gilles Peterson Series. Due to the UK on June 21 I found the track listing and it's as follows: ...you tell me?
  20. ... and then there is this one about Pastoral Composure: ...i think i just wore out my finger prints snapping along.
  21. Multiplication Table it is then... been scouring and thought i'd share this little Amazon insight into the man's music.
  22. Have listened to quite a bit of Matthew Shipp's pomo experiments and beautiful musical journeys on his Blue Series brand of Thirsty Ear records and am curious for any recommendations of his works prior. While i'm no out and "out" Cecil Taylor fan I would appreciate some recs for a more accesible approach to maybe some of his HatHut pieces. I have only heard his string trio work with Maneri (not so inclined) and I guess I'm more apt to maybe move toward his trios with Ibarra and Parker?? Is there one master work before the millenium that you might say is a must have??
  23. Alan comes away with this! His recent Holy Grail!! (and Sonny's last notes) You knew it was there all along and this whole trip, graduation, girlfriend set-up blah blah was just a ruse?
  24. shouldn't this be in the "politics" forum? but seriously i would love to gets me the first three as well. i even resisted looking over there in hopes that i'd someday peruse them w/o knowledge.
  25. Damn! John even got that little bit of superflous halo glinting down the back of the figure.
