  1. You got that right... I had no idea he was sick!!! Damn, a 13 year old and a 3 year old left behind! I really enjoyed the few cds that were put out on his Sensation label. They started with Vol. 5 on Annette Hanshaw, but only got to vol 7....God, can't believe those came out in 2000/2001!!! Just checked on Amazon, and you can't get them new or used right now. Rest in Peace Jeff.....
  2. Have a great one!!!!
  3. Man, I got faked out seeing March 2nd, 2007 and thinking, wow 47 comments just since 1 AM!!! Now that it's March, I should get used to the idea it's 2008!!! Anyway, hope you had a great one, and all those former Braves prospects turn your team into a contender very soon!
  4. Yay! Berigan not just making swell cd for Berigan! But, now there is pressure! What if folks like MG don't like it?? Or don't hear anything They haven't already heard a thousand times before??? Best make sure I have the very best of Najee on this cd, not the merely good! Seriously, I can see how folks like Al end up making it a 2 cd set. I am about 2/3's of the way thru the list of songs...and I am having a a tough time choosing between 3 songs from one cd right now. They are all good, but after listening to them each a 2nd time...I keep changing my mind! And one of my favorite tunes is off a sampler, that doesn't tell you who all is on the track! So, since I know it's on a box, when it comes to answer time, someone can fill in the blanks! And MG, might I add, that is quite the long address??? I am going to need to get a long envelope just to fit it all!
  5. Err...I mean, it WILL rock your jazz world!!! Or not! Aw, come on, sign up! Sign up if you like old jazz, and want to (perhaps) hear some stuff you never have heard before. Sign up if you like Albert Ayler, but don't know much old jazz, or claim not to like pre bop jazz. Jazz really doesn't have to be backwards compatible, if that makes sense..... PM me with your mailing address if you would like to participate. Or even if you don't. Oh, and there will be blood. I mean Berigan. Only 1 or 2 tracks though. UPDATED INFO as of 3-22! I'm totally ripping off what Big Al did on his BFT, editing the first post over and over . Seems to make sense, as long as people aren't dumb like me, and just check out the last page of a thread. Here are the names of folks who can/want to download it....And to think I was worried no one would sign up! Dan JSngry Alex Big Al King Ubu Tom Storer Spontooneous Rosco Thom Keith RDK Bill Barton Jams-Runt mikeweil Bright Moments(A man of the future! ) Not sure of MG(since I see you did that on Al's, glad to give you cds if you'd rather have 'em) WorldB3 Know for sure, they want cds. Van Basten II Royal Oak Stereojack Well, King Ubu checked out the links, and except for the very first track on disc 2 that had the artist info, the rest of the tracks are clean of offending giveaways! Links to disc 1. Disc one, part 1 Disc one, part 2 Disc one, part 3 Disc 2...I have to apologize up front, the audio on track 3 is terrible! It's one of my all time favorites, but when I opened the case to the cd it's on, no cd inside! Crap! Well, I remembered that it was on a sampler, so copied that. Sounded "ok" on tiny computer speakers. Then, I played the cd for my Dad on his big honkin' JBL's and yuck!!! Pretty much ruined...oh well. Disc 2, part 1. Disc 2, part 2. Disc 2, part 3 A couple of things King Ubu also pointed out to me... Then one more thing: you should make sure that everyone knows disc one has 20 tracks and disc two has 27. I unpacked all the files and and then you don't have that info any longer. Also, hope this isn't a problem...(Again, first time I have really messed with this kind of thing, don't have an Ipod, or mp3 player) the fact that the files turned out relatively big may have to do with them being WMA files, not MP3s. I downloaded the first part of disc 1 in about 10 minutes with DSL...I am getting to hate those cats and dogs all over their free access code! and a link to a post I made on page 2 with very basic info on rar. files... http://www.organissimo.org/forum/index.php...st&p=767120
  6. Well, it's a fake test...yet they show an 1870's teacher's certification test, and check out how hard that sucker was!!!! Fairly long, but interesting read.... http://www.snopes.com/language/document/1895exam.asp
  7. I know it's just circumstantial evidence, but listening to the cultural references in the pop songs of the 20's and 30's and comparing them to today.... I'd love to see 50 cent use lyrics like these! He said my cerebellum was brilliant, And my cerebrum far from N.G., I know he though a lotta My medulla oblongata, But he never said he loved me. And France has some dopey folks right now as well.... Marion Cotillard's 9-11 Conspriacy(And moon landing!)
  8. Winehouse is British.....so they must accept some blame as well.... I think I first saw this email about 5 years ago...If it's true, we are mighty dumb these days.
  9. "KIng" Milford taught Buddy Bolden to play hot trumpet, but never gave Milford credit!!!! In fact, ever wonder why the Bolden Cylinder has never been found???? Because it was Milford who made that recording!!! When Buddy heard it, he knew Milford was onto something really new, jass as Milford called.... so he and clubbed him to death with his trumpet, and pretended to have dementia praecox, just to keep himself out of the electric chair!!!! But, while institutionalized, every Tuesday afternoon he taught everything he stole from Milford, to Freddie Keppard, King Oliver, and Jelly Roll..... Yet another example of the black man trying to keep the white man down!
  10. Don't tell Allen, but I have the news on the biggest, baddest conspiracy of them all!!!! A white man invented jazz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Most of the evidence has been destroyed by the relations of Jelly Roll Morton, but here is a rare photo of the first jazzman, Milford Lipshitz!!!!!
  11. Hope you are are having a great one!!!! And where you bin at, anyway??? Own all the Mosaics worth owning, and therefore never listen to them or jazz anymore???
  12. Allen, have you ever looked at the McAdams site??? Or just relied on others to tell you everything has been debunked??? I remember posting much info on this site/subject years ago here... ever see this photo??? http://mcadams.posc.mu.edu/sbt3.jpg or this one??? http://mcadams.posc.mu.edu/robinson1.jpg Taken from this page, The Single Bullet Theory. are they facts, or did he alter them???
  13. Like you didn't. Its like when someone tells you the milk is spoiled, you still open the container for another whiff. Yep, we are weird all right!
  14. Oh come on, everybody's doing it!!!
  15. http://www.internetisseriousbusiness.com/
  16. Oh, thank God, more politics in the non political section of the forum! Perhaps you can get TNR to have Scott Beauchamp make up some more phony stories(And record the stuff on my old VHS tapes) so you can be even happier! I also always glad to see a subtle sig like yours after every one of your posts as well! I just wish it was a bit, you know...in your face. Bush derangement fever, catch it!
  17. I wholeheartedly agree. However, he never faced the "great" Babe Ruth....no, wait! Babe Ruth never faced any of the greatest Black pitchers of his time. [Overrated is a word I would use to describe Ruth....but that's another story.] I'd really like to see you back up that last line.....
  18. Yeah, it should be an interesting battle to see which team will battle for second behind the Braves! I tell you what, if Hampton really is healthy and stays that way, you've got starters that are as good or better than the Mets and Phils. If those teams don't batter each other too much, I think there's a good chance that two of the three will make it to the playoffs, unless Torre does a miracle job on the Dodgers (I think Colorado is unlikely to duplicate its run to the pennant). Dan, it's funny....we were so completely lacking in starting pitching last year, Smoltz and Hudson and pray for rain(Doesn't rhyme I know!) now IF Hampton is healthy,(And for all his hard work, I hope he can at least pitch for awhile) there is Glavine, leaving as choices for #5, 22 year old Jair Jurrjens who we got from Detroit for Renteria, a nobody named Jeff Bennett who after a few years of arm trouble (And converting from reliever to starter midseason)really impressed last September...ad to that last year's 3rd starter Chuck James(Who has rotator cuff issues ) and Jo-Jo Reyes who after a terrible beginning to the year, had an ERA around 3 in September...and even if Hampton gets injured again, we have a fair number of options. In fact, I could be singing another tune at the end of the season, but I think we should have saved the money on Glavine. But, one can never have enough starting pitching, can one??? Now, if only Bobby Cox can find his brain again, we will stand a good chance.....
  19. Yeah, it should be an interesting battle to see which team will battle for second behind the Braves!
  20. I think all shows like Jackass are total crap, and normally I would say he deserved it...but in this case.....oww ! http://www.zap2it.com/tv/news/zap-johnnykn...0,6967007.story
  21. I mean, the guy probably is right, but it's not fair. And who knows??? It might be an album with nothing but Willard Robison covers! http://www.accessatlanta.com/entertainment...owes_Maxim.html
  22. I think football fans just except cheating more than fans of other sports. You will hear a football fan joke, or mock baseball players using steroids....but mention to them how likely it is that most football players that aren't kickers are using HGH and steroids, you get comments like, yeah, you are probably right...but there just doesn't seem to be the upset you get from baseball fans about performance enhancers, and what they have done to the game. If a football player who was caught using steroids comes up for voting for the HOF down the road, will it keep them out of the hall as it has McGuire????
  23. Sounds like he was already rich if he owned nearly 3 million albums, singles and cds!
  24. Should I inhale the fumes deep into my lungs as well??????????
  25. You HATE this planet, don't you???? Well, is there a practical/profitable way of recycling them? One that doesn't cost more money and/or energy to turn them from useless, unwanted media containers into plastic pellets or something? I mean, seriously, nobody uses VHS tapes anymore - even libraries don't want them - so they're gonna eventually end up in a landfill one way or the other. Even shipping them to somebody who "wants" them is gonna cost a bundle - and there's environmental impact from shipping as well. Ray, first, I hope you know my humor enough to know I was just kidding with you....secondly, they are just so freakin' big! And I have so many!! No joke, I have a big box just taking up room of the one's I copied, sitting behind my sofa. And I can barely move the box now! And I have many more to follow once they are copied. Don't really want to even copy those right now. I'm just not a big fan of waste. That site I linked in the first post, they either degauss the VHS tapes so they can be used again as surveillance tapes for police, etc. Or they can be broken down for their raw parts, and reused. But, like I said before, I don't want to pay a hefty amount of money to get rid of these. I just thought someone would say call _____they come to your house, and take it off your hands. Yeah, I'm a dreamer. Watch, in a few years we will all hear about someone that has made millions of dollars recycling tapes, just going door to door to get them! Going to have to do some work, see what if any recycling centers we have in the ATL(Nearly 5 million folks here, there's gotta be one or two, right??) Mgraham's idea sounds like a good one as well.... Funny, on this issue , I am sounding like the the bed wetting liberal, and you sound like the heartless Republican!
