I'm not a fan of stats one way of the other, there are some big posters here and when I first saw the numbers, I wondered how they could post so many. Che. You learn quickly!

As I mentioned above, I'm over it and don't expect to see or here anything!

...it's not just quantity but quality that counts in my mind.....this is not to say that my posts are of such quality but if you pull out the posts like: or this or this, many post totals would be substantially smaller !

Mark, Just a heads up. Your earthlink address is refusing to accept emails from the board, which is why you don't get any with regards to PMs and such. You need to add the forum email address (forum@organissimo.org) to your safe list or whatever. I keep getting a ton of emails back from you that the board is trying to send. Alan, I have no issues with a forum as you suggest and am not pissed off or outraged. It's a transaction that went bad and I'm over it. When people buy and sell here, they always wonder who they are dealing with if they haven't dealt with them before (at least I do). I usually give the person the benefit of the doubt. In some cases you get burnt. When you see others that have had similar issues, it's good to know. Maybe there are issues preventing Pyran from responding, who knows! Mark

...what's not in good taste is not finishing a transaction as promised or not replying to email/PM while you continue to post. I think for the most part; posters here do all they can to avoid these situations. Mark

Hagiographical inferences did not refer to Roach specifically - he became a springboard for a general "discussion" with regard to "liberal in theory" but not in practice tendencies, particularly pertaining to the jazz world's defensive attitude to criticism, as evidenced by your post. If you examine my texts, when they are presented generally it is for purely rhetorical effect in order to emphasis the subject(s) and provoke debate (seige mentality kills that at birth, however). Otherwise I qualify my statements. If I was on a conservative board and presented criticism of right-wing shibboleths I imagine I wouild receive the same response. It's dichotomous reasoning that get's people so tribalistic, territorial, and worked up in the first place. Forget allegiences and just think. ouch....so many big words......where is that dictionary!!!
