  12. If he does, then I was sitting next to an impostor.
  13. Let's see, what will we call it? Photo filches? Sorry Allen.... back to buy bad books... Chris, That's funny as s**t! As I'm reading all the comments, I couldn't help but think about the time (a couple years ago) I asked you about Frank Driggs and you said something like "don't leave you photographs around or they will end up saying "Copyright Frank Driggs". Those weren't your words exactly but you get my drift.....and then I see your post here! I see Allen has some books for sale!!!
  14. I saw Benny in Indianapolis at the beginning of December and then again two weeks later in Chicago. Very similar shows and although the commentary doesn't change much, he's still great to see. At another show in Chicago the following week, I heard a guy say to his friend "I went to see Benny Golson last week and he never shut up. I felt like telling him If you came to play, shut the f**k up and play" Glad to hear the Philly show was a good one! Mark
  15. hmmm.......RDK.......BTK......????? Could there be a connection????
  16. WOW! ....what's a walkman???
  17. Lazaro, As I mentioned, John Young on piano. Mike Raynor was the drummer but I can't think of the bass player's name......possible last name of Ferguson, maybe.....great big guy...sounded good. Someone else may recall the tunes...a couple by Prez and......... Von had several stories of his first gig at age 12 which were pretty funny; very talkative on this night!!! Chuck.....Larry.....Uncle Skid???????
  18. Which books in particular are you looking for as both photographers have multiple books. I probably have all of them but occasionally see them in my travels . Mark
  19. Have a great day!
  20. I'M NOT SURPRISED!!!
  21. Well.....I got home at 11:45 and played around on the computer for a few minutes to wind down and then off to bed. I got about 6 hours of sleep which is not enough for me! Larry was probably asleep before we got out of downtown Chicago !
  22. Lazarro, The show was great; it was good to see Von again. It's turned into a little meeting of Organissimo members with myself, Uncle Skid, Chuck Nessa and Larry Kart in attendance along with Jim Neumann (Beehive Records) and our friend Dick Sorensen who wrote many of Jim's liner notes. We all sat in the front row, directly in front of Von and he had a on his face when he looked at us and recognized Larry and Chuck. I told Larry that I would leave the review up to him as mine usually go along lines of "the show was great" (see above) or "what a great show" or many other inane comments. One thing I will say is that it was good to see John Young (he's not young!) on piano, great player!!! Even Joe Segal was in a good mood (for him) until we kept Von around too late after the gig; Joe got a little pissy after that and threw us out ! The six of us headed out for dinner to chat about....what else, jazz! It was fun to put a name to a face as they say, as this was first time I had met Uncle Skid, Chuck and Larry. Hope to do it again soon! Mark
  23. ...can't make Philly but will see the Chicago gig!
