  1. ...then they better start treating us with some respect!!! m~
  2. Lots of places charge too much but the last two points Jazzshrink made......that's just bullshit! He probably did more to kill his shop than anything else did! m~
  3. ....I would have more money in my pocket!
  4. That's about the only relaxing time I have in the week....no phone calls...or other interruptions~ m~
  5. Did he have Allison Miller with him? She's got a nice grove.
  6. My better half said it was stupid but she laughed all the way through it.....especially the hair waxing episode! m~
  7. Agustin, Have a GREAT day!!!
  8. ...I claim to have sold 30 million lps as well but I don't see my name on the list.....this is bogus! m~
  9. ...nice touch throwing the flowers in there....never under estimate the power of props! m~
  10. I'm leaving on my annual baseball trip this coming Monday and will be in Toronto, Detroit and Cleveland....any good record/cd stores in the areas? I know there was/is one in Detroit called....something with the word Car.... in it.......used car records....big car records....broken down car records....something goofy like that. Thanks! m~
  11. ...ordered 20 myself....had most of the others and the ones I don't, really didn't interest me (at this time).....$12.00 shipping . m~
  12. What happens to a dream deferred? Ya know Jim, maybe it's my Jewish guilt kicking in (I mean, shit, it's been 6 whole minutes...) but perhaps Old Stanley can be persuded to come on here and speak for himself. I'd gladly debate him and it doesn't seem gentlemanly to be talking behind his cyber-back, despite his alleged and real crimes. This is a jazz-savvy crew and perhaps he'd actually discuss rather than deficate his royal poop over us. I'd enjoy whipping his ass myself. Plus I write pretty well and can actually play a musicial instrument with a jazz band. Administrator? Care to invite Mr. Crouch? You can say it was at the behest of Mr. Joel Fass Stanley is a drummer!
  13. Around here, $2000-$3000. So much for the idea of "renewing our vows".
  14. While the thread is not about Mike Ricci, I will go on record as one who likes the guy very much. I've had several dealing with him, talked with him on the phone many times and he has supported me on several projects in the past and current; the guy is cool in my book~~~ m~
  15. ....what is the going rate to hire a good band for a wedding??? m~
  16. ...why is everyone picking on me??? Mark~
  17. ...while I enjoyed my recent visit to the Vanguard, it's a little too cramped for my style and LG is a bitch (based on my recent phone conversation with her). She has done a good thing by keeping the club open for many years after Max's death, but that is one nasty woman, in my opinion. m~ ...edited for spelling!
  18. The Jazz Kitchen in Indy is also very similar to your description....very good food at reasonable cost, a very good mix of local and national talent (though yet to book Organissimo), a very good listening room with no site problems and good sound system, lots of free parking in the vacinity and a nicely stocked bar this is separated by a wall from the main listening room (but not blocking out the sound of the band). Smoking is permitted in the bar only. Friendly, hardworking staff is a plus! If you're ever in Indy, a stop here is a must. m~
  19. Have a little compassionativity for the guy! Happy Belated Birthday, Randy m~
  20. Thanks guys, I'll check out Chuck's tips as well. Maybe the guy will know a few bucks off~!~~ Mark~
  21. ...I came across an LP of Lester Bowie's Volumes 1 & 2 on Nessa Records today. Cover is near mint as is the LP. The guy wants about $30.00 for this....is it worth it, is he trying to take me for a ride??? I'm not really an LP collector but I have a fair amount of vinyl.....any thoughts??? Mark~
  22. Have a great day, Jack!!!
  23. Thanks for posting the links, much appreciated. The funeral is tomorrow, gonna be sad and beautiful at the same time. Can't say enought about the guy....just checking on the forum on the Indy Star website gives you a small inkling about what the guy was about.... . Really going to miss him~ Thanks again, m~
  24. Have a GREAT day, Barak
  25. Thanks for all the replies, yes....very sad! Mpozi was originally from Philly and had his hands in a lot of things beyond photography. If you're familiar with the band The Roots, he did photographs for their debut cd as well as some background voices on their cd "Do you Want More???"....very talented dude and a great friend! m~
