  1. ...And all the cuts in between.
  2. There's a 1957 Prestige album that I love called "Jenkins, Jordan, & Timmons"---if you can find it, grab it. The thing is an unpretentious little gem. Also "Spellbound," with my favorite version of Jordan's composition "Toy." After that, all I can do is agree with Chuck Nessa's excellent recommendations. Be sure to get the newer CD of Glass Bead Games, though, with both sessions on it, totalling just over an hour of playing time. JORDAN!!!
  3. How did you like Underwhelminglee? Not nearly as much as Wonderfulee. (Seriouslee, the orchestral tracks on Delightfulee are a bit of a drag, and they don't fit in with the rest of the album.)
  4. Yesterday I bought Delightfulee. Have to say, I don't like it nearly as much as Leeway.
  5. Keyword: "eventually." Ouch.
  6. How is this? I loved the first two Nuggets anthologies, but thought the third (Son of Nuggets) was weak.
  7. I really like it a lot. One of my favorite Lee Morgan records.
  8. I couldn't agree more.
  9. Good article. Thanks for that.
  10. I hope so too; I really love this series.
  11. Also, since they put these in the old, ugly, big CD cases if you're in for the whole series you're gonna have to build a new room on your house to hold them.
  12. Short for "God's wounds!" no doubt. Tsk, such language.
  13. There is a reason for that, thanks to the always informative Bob B's extra liner notes, he is actually AWOL. He's not there, Bob reckons that he was just booked somewhere else, as he was a busy man in those days and was late for the session. Burrell is only on half the BACK AT THE CHICKEN SHACK/MIDNIGHT SPECIAL sessions, I never realised this either from the original version or notes, just thought he was quite quiet. Bloody 'ell! I never realised that, either. Oh well, I've got McMasters of both, so I guess, now I know the secret in the sleeve notes, I don't need to buy the RVGs Hurray!!
  14. That first one is a really good album. The second one I'd like to find. Anyone get the new Brubeck solo album yet?

    Dogon A.D.

You are so welcome. But really, it was nothing.
  16. In the early 80s, I had all of the Mothers' Verve LPs in dead mint original pressings, which it had taken me several years of searching to collect. My copy of We're Only In It For The Money even had the original inserts, in mint condition like the LP and jacket. I was an impoverished undergraduate, and eventually hit a patch where I needed money badly enough to convince me to sell all of them. In retrospect, I should've just sucked it up and stocked up on ramen noodles; I wound up not getting as much money for them as I'd expected to, and although I eventually replaced most of them, the replacements weren't as nice as the ones I'd let go. Yeah, mine was in excellent condition, with the inserts as well. I did OK on the trade, but still. Man, I feel bad just reading these.
  17. I've never seen that before, but it sounds like it might be a bargain if you didn't already have the College Of the Pacific and Oberlin albums.
  18. C'mon, he's trying to get out of a box....and there's no box there!!!! That's...um.... Okay, it's not funny. But then, I never found clowns funny, whatever their names.

    Peabo Bryson!

I feel much the same about Bill Bryson.
  20. I'm sure I never drove a car that could even go this fast. Once went over 100, but that was driving throught the Nevada desert so does it even count?
  21. My vinyl is a fetish?
  22. The early stuff is surprisingly fertile, actually. I think you'll dig it.
  23. I never liked Jan. Talk about whiny... I'm glad I missed that one.
