  1. Yep. I fully agree.
  2. Rush - A Show of Hands (Mercury/Anthem) Live recordings from the Power Windows (1986) and Hold Your Fire (1988) tours.
  3. Next up: Freddie Hubbard - Skagly (Columbia, 1980)
  4. Shocked & saddened to hear this news. R.I.P. He loved the music.
  5. Japanese pressing Yes. "Baffling" for sure. I was hoping Elemental would include it in their Xanadu reissue series from a few years ago. But no luck. They chose Cuber Libre instead.
  6. Another one from James Moody: Comin' on Strong (Argo/Cadet, 1964)
  7. Just looking back thru this thread, I was immediately struck by Mike's comments about Mwandishi and Crossings from ten years ago. I couldn't agree more! They're MIND-BLOWERS.
  8. So true. He was a giant.
  9. Inspired casting . . . and inspired music! ❤️ Odyssey of Iska would likely be my desert-island choice for Wayne Shorter. Now listening to some James Moody, prompted by @Rabshakeh (on another thread): James Moody - Great Day (Argo, 1963) An excellent collaboration with Tom McIntosh. Sorta like their version of Miles & Gil Evans -- but a bit smaller in scale.
  10. Get 'em both, Kevin. You won't regret it.
  11. Now spinning: John Stowell - Golden Delicious (Inner City, 1977) with: Trumpet – Claudio Roditi Piano – Jim McNeely Bass – Mike Richmond, David Friesen (A2 only) Drums – Billy Hart Percussion – Dom Um Romão I really like this LP. It's Stowell's debut.
  12. Hooray for James Moody !!!
  13. NP: CD compiles two Prestige LPs recorded in 1961: Up Tight! and Boss Soul! I've never heard that one before. I'll have to give it a listen.
  14. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ Yes, that's a good one!
  15. NP: Richard Thompson - You? Me? Us? (Capitol, 1996) Disc 1 - "Voltage Enhanced" Never heard this before. But, yes, it's timely. (And not just in the U.K.)
  16. Peter Bernstein - Earth Tones (Criss Cross, 1997) with Larry Goldings & Bill Stewart I always enjoy hearing these three guys play together.
  17. Now spinning: Arman Ratip - The Spy from Istanbul (Regal Zonophone UK, 1973) Mad About Records (Portugal) reissue
  18. Yes! I've collected many LPs in the Jazzlore series over the years, and I've always be happy with them.
