Ditto. Off to a crappy start in Pittsburgh. Steeler fan here, but with a prediction that we go 8-8. Our defensive backfield looked horrible on those TD passes. Geez. But we found a way to win when too often last year we found ways to lose. Plus, our offensive line was OK against an improved line for the Raiders. Neither team is going too far in my opinion. Our offense should end up being pretty good though. Whoever had Bettis on a fantasy team did well: 3 TDs -- and a total of ONE yard rushing (can't imagine many did though). Sounds like a pretty accurate and reasonable assessment.

I saw some of the game on tv, Jim. Switched back and forth from the Browns game to the Lions. I thought it was a bit dull. Neither team looked very good. In the meantime, Minnesota looks like a powerhouse. Still, one step at a time, I guess.

Ah, "graceful winning".... Don't you know it!! For the record, though, I told Gerald I wouldn't take his money --- BUT, if he wanted to 'comp' me into $50 worth of shows at The Blue Room (the big-name acts usually have a $25 cover), I was certainly open to that. I would have done the same thing. I never bet over $1. The guilt of taking money from a bet equals the pain of losing money from a bet. Nobody wins...

I didn't care for this session at all. Much of it seemed to come down to a lot of screeching. You can't deny the intense emotional play on some of the songs, but in the end, I found the disc wasn't essential.

Mark, All three are available on www.half.com though "Easy Walker" is overpriced. "Move Your Hand" is a must-own. Lonnie's best in my opinion. I wouldn't like to give up my copy of "Pretty Things" either, but I might if you are completely stuck...

Pat's defence did not look good at all. They won't win the SuperBowl playing the same kind of "D" But the season is early... Belichick was shuffling players in and out of the Defensive line and the secondary. Lot of new faces and we have to see who plays well together. Big Ted has gone to the Raiders. He will be missed. Rookie Vince Wilfolk and vet Keith Traylor are trying to take his place. I don't think teams have worked out the preseason kinks yet. We have to wait till half season to see who will be the serious contenders. Pundits are saying the "newcomers" this year will be the Vikings, Eagles, and Seahawks. Will have to see... Anyway, we're 1-0 for now...

Great game, but I can't say that I was pleased with the nitpicky penalties against the Patriots. Almost seems like the refs were struggling to keep the Colts in the game. Charley Weiss needed to run Corey more than 15 times... Sorry, but you're wrong again, SS1. Keep betting against the Pats, and you'll have a very long season. Didn't you learn your lesson last year?

Good game so far. Can't believe I'm staying up to watch the end of this. I've got to get up early tomorrow. Colts up by 4 at the half. Pats run defence looks awful so far. Shoulda kept Big Ted Washington. What's with Ty Law? He was on the sideline during a critical part of the first half. Colts are up for this one. The Pats had an indifferent preseason. They don't quite look "ready" yet, but they're still in the game. Anything can happen at this stage, but looks like there will be a lot of points. Colts O-line looks great.

Personalities are definitely important, and we've got none of them in the men's game. At least on the female side, we've got the charismatic Williams's sisters along with those good-looking Russians. The action is with the women these days in tennis...

And I hate the Raiders.

My folks are fine in Boynton Beach, but the power will be out till later this week at the earliest. My guess is that Marty is okay but won't be able to post until the electricity comes back on.

And those are about the only two that I would look to try out again. The other cds have some songs which would still hold up for me (after having listened to them a thousand times as an 18 year old) but there are only a few which would, I think.
