I nominate a couple of Duke Pearson cds: "Wahoo" and "Right Touch" Both should be reissued as RVGs.

Toldya earlier, Terence. No other team in the West will stop the Lakers. Not sure that any team in the East will either. It's now ho-hum... -

Damn it, Jim. Have a little more confidence in the Pistons. I know Sheed is hurting, but they took the Pacers to the wire. I haven't given up on the yet! -
I've been forced to drop out of the BMT mail lists due to my sporadic participation on this board of late. I believe I received three of four in total and posted my comments on them all. If I skipped anyone, I just wish to say that I appreciate the time and effort spent in sending me these discs. Wonderful job everyone! Unfortunately, I will have to stay off the list to receive these discs as my work schedule doesn't allow me the time to post any responses with sufficient degree of integrity.

Welcome back sale!!

Sorry Brad, Hope you understand. There are some "great" artists that just don't appeal to me for whatever reason. Bud is one of them. Perhaps I'll learn to appreciate him once I mature a bit... -
Insurance for your music collection.
connoisseur series500 replied to Hardbopjazz's topic in Miscellaneous Music
I'm not a property/casualty insurance specialist, but I think insurance can get quite expensive when you add "schedules" and riders to your policy. It would be interesting to hear from others if they have added insurance protection for their cd collections on their homeowner's policy. If you do, remember to take a photo of every one you have. You pretty much have to prove that you had what you are claiming when the time comes. -

I concur also that Jim Thompson's house is worth seeing. You shouldn't get overrun with other tourists there as well. It's an interesting house and a good story. There is also another house like that but I've forgotten the name. It's next to Phaya Thai hospital. Forgot the name of the road... I remember the damned hospitals of course....

Me?? Oh yeah, I guess me... Chiang Mai: there is the obligatory visit to Doi Suthep up in the hills. If you want to go somewhere remote and beautiful, see if there's time to visit the small town of Nan. It is one of those hidden Asian gems... Worthwhile checking out Lamphun, which isn't far from Chiang Mai. Cool temples there. Bangkok: the main temples to visit are Wat Benjamabopit (marble temple), Wat Po, and the Temple of the Rising Sun (right across from Wat Po on the river.) Visit the Golden Mount which is in that area and the Grand Palace in Sanam Luang (of course! ) Now for whores you go to... oops got sidetracked a bit... Spend a day visiting Ayuthaya. You can get a bus or taxi ride there without problem. Good food is all over the city. If you want old coins or gems or antiques, go down Silom Road and New Road. Back to food: eat the lunch buffet at the Indra Hotel. Second floor, I believe, not the restaurant on the ground floor. You can also shop for cheap trinkets and such in the market around the Indra. The Weekend market is quite interesting. You can find anything there from live animals to trinkets. Don't forget to bargain with the taxi and samlor drivers. Don't take the first offer!! Have fun!

Pistons should be in the driver's seat for the seventh game, but they just seem incapable of scoring buckets. Why isn't Sheed more of a factor? Their only scorers are Billups and Hamilton; and it seems Billups doesn't turn up for some games. Tayshaun is not a natural scorer. I'm with you, Jim on praying the Pistons take it. I work in Dearborn four days of the week and everyone is behind them... Looks like the Lakers will march to the finals without much difficulty. I don't see either Minnesota or Sacramento posing many problems for them. -

I guess I don't understand this type of thinking. Let's all go and hurt the oil companies so that they will then go and stick us some more in order to make up for losses caused by our very temporary boycott. This is the same anarchist mentality that wishes to destroy something just because things aren't going our way for whatever reason. I'm sure there's more to blame than just the oil companies. Just because we may sympathize in some visceral way and wish to strike out in some random fashion doesn't mean that it does anyone any good to do so. Let's be rational, please...
