  2. I assume you mean sugar? Coke has very little sodium, and I'll speculate that this is true for most other sodas. Somebody mentioned drinking orange juice -- the stuff you buy at the store has a ton of sugar in it. I am guessing home-squeezed stuff is less problematic. Guy No, he means sodium. Yeah, it's 'low sodium' if you compare it to food, but how many other saltwater beverages do you consume? I got a 12 pack of Diet Coke a while back that they'd missed putting sweetener in, and let me tell you, it was an eye opener!

  4. Bull. Dow Plunges 387 is all they know; anything else is pure speculation. I hate economic reporting; everyone knows exactly what happened after the fact...

  8. Do we really need to insure our citizens against stupidity? Dealing with "reality", we will insure them if "Wall St" will be damaged. What a bag of crap. decent mandatory basic economics courses for high school students (and high school teachers) would be a good place to start. AMEN!!! The fact that a large segment has difficulty understanding basic money matters is not a matter of stupidity, it's just ignorance. Ignorance can be 'cured' through education. and it's a damn shame that we aren't teaching kids basic money skills, nutrition, etc. I hate to admit it, but these skills would be a lot more useful to most of the population than the quadratic equation or even Shakespeare. In truth, I'm not really arguing for 'instead of' but rather than 'in addition to', but as parents can't seem to educate their kids on these matters (mainly because they, themselves, never learned), it would really be a boon to our society for the schools to step in and take up the slack.

  18. I'm sure we can depend on our government to bail out the bigshots while assuring those losing their homes that they're better off without depending on the government to solve their problems...
  19. Not me. Sounds like the best way to lose money in the world. Let's see...the price is dropping, so I'll sell. Now it's more expensive, so I'll buy. Yeah, sounds great!

  23. Is there any need for these kinds of comments, Dan? I mean it's not pro-wrestling or anything. You can make your point (and even have truth on your side, as I believe you do,) but there's no need for such slurs. I don't think it enhances your argument in the slightest. And I doubt you'll be able to win Goodspeak over to some of your points by throwing such gratuitous shots. Come on, Conn...you know by now that Dan will never grow up and learn to control his anger. It's just not going to happen. Let me save him some time, though, so he can concentrate on Goodspeak... Fuck you, Mark!
  24. Nah, you take it. I'll stick to broccoli! I know cauliflower and broccoli are somewhat similar, but I can't stand the former and love the latter.
