  1. I don't mind a video being there, but if it starts up automatically, I'm gone.
  2. Mickey Finn Prunella Scales Kilgore Trout
  3. Found a copy of Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere at the used book store last week. I remember the television series well, and I have to say, if you have fond memories of it like I do, you'd love the book.
  4. This is old news. How do you think they tailor the ads to you?
  5. Harry Lime James Orange Jack Lemmon
  6. The problem is, with my current health, I'm a lightweight. If I drink two, I'll never see the third...
  7. Black Butte. Tried one and they're all crap? Yup. It's the approach: throw more hops than sensible into the mix and proclaim it a great beer. Doesn't work for me.
  8. I finally tried an IPA last week. What crap. I'll stick to porters, thank you.
  9. Jeez...I've got to go listen to some Dick Dale to cleanse my ears after that.
  10. Karl Marx Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Smith, from Anytown, USA Ralph Spoilsport
  11. Lee Meriwether Claude Rains Gale Storm
  12. It wasn't what I expected; it was better. That's always nice. I don't know why I never went on a serious Aldiss bender. I read Hothouse in my early twenties and loved it. When I decided to revisit SF a few years ago, I read Greybeard and was astounded. Maybe it was the memory of trying to read Barefoot in the Head.
  13. Golden Earing The Silver Fox Neil Diamond
  14. I finished the Adlard trilogy, and there's nothing like following depressing English SF with more of the same, so I went with Brian Aldiss for a follow up:
  15. Mick Jagger The Jaggerz The Rapper
  16. I watched the Sugar Ray Leonard/Marvin Hagler fight last night for the first time. Hagler was robbed.
  17. So I guess the answer now is "not too well".
  18. No kidding! What kind of racket is this?
  19. Check out; it's one of his Charles Fort-inspired works like Sinister Barrier as I recall. Which reminds me; I haven't read Wasp yet this year... (If you can't tell, John, dropping Russell's name guarantees you at least one sale...
  20. For the last thirty years, I've toted two books of a trilogy everywhere I moved knowing that SOME DAY I'd find the third book and be able to read the whole thing. Last year I finally scored a copy of Mark Adlard's Multiface, so I started the first book Interface last night. Should have read it years ago; it's good stuff.
  21. Jim Beam Smilin' Jack Nils Lofgren
