  1. Keep this result at hand, for the next time someone tells you that you don't know the difference! The difference
  2. Why can't he go away? Because these whoring college administrators who care more about publicity and their sports teams than education keep throwing money at this psychotic. Glad I could clear that up for you, Berigan!
  3. Aw, shucks; it's nothin'...
  4. I think people who buy smooth peanut butter instead of crunchy are ignorant, pathetic wretches. But then they probably think the same about me, so who cares?
  5. I, on the other hand, have been trying to get on since around 11 PST this morning, and just now was able to make it. Weird...
  6. But still no Lee Morgan, damn it!
  7. Started rereading Neil Gaiman's Good Omens this morning. I haven't read this since it came out about ten years ago. It'll be interesting to see if my fond memories of it are due to it's writing or my "comic geek" love of Gaman's work back then...
  8. Oh, Chris, if you only knew how right you are!
  9. Wow...an artist I'd just "discovered" recently, and gone already...
  10. I've seen some frightening photos on this board, but this... "The horror...the horror..."
  11. I spent part of my childhood in Georgia, attending grades 6-8, and 10-12, receivin' that there high school diplomy thing in a fine Georgia learnin' institution. With all the history, social studies and civics course I took during that period, I don't remember slavery being mentioned even once. Not once. Nothing new here...
  12. Who the heck is Lindsey the Birdwoman???
  13. Damn...that's a good question! I remember buying their releases of the Kinks LPs back in the mid 80s, but I'm sure they'd already been around for a while.
  14. To those who voted "Blue Mitchell": Hey guys; get a load of those chumps!
  15. To those who voted "Electric Bill": I must admit I'm impressed at the number of sane, responsible, mature adults that frequent this board. You gentlemen are to be commended and make me proud to know you!
  16. And, after a quick check at the USPS website, I'll go along Airmail Parcel Post being the right choice. Darn memory!
  17. Going by memory, I don't think so. But then for me, going by memory is like believing a politician's promise...
  18. If it was me, I'd probably send it by registered mail. I just assume that the post office is more careful with such things, and if I remember right, insurance is included in the cost. Plus, you get the added bonus of being able to track it, having it signed for by the recipient. Less worries...
  19. Sorry, Adam; my post was confusing due to it's placement in the middle of y'alls discussion. I meant the other two movies that I ordered were in stock, not the other two Tati movies mentioned in the thread.
  20. Yes, but now that rock and hip hop have "further eroded the cultural landscape", jazz by comparison seems downright elitist. Hence, it doesn't qualify for the scorn anymore. Just look at the treatment of jazz in the media. Instead of thequick, tilted camera shots of wild eyed Black jazz performers designed to raise anxiety in movies like D.O.A., we get pretentious "cultural" presentations, like Take Five lending upscale trappings to an Infiniti commercial. To tailor the message to both factions, it's either "we're so far into the abyss at this point, that jazz is upscale by comparison", or "been down so long it looks like up to me."
  21. Yep. They drove me crazy. Sorry...
  22. Brandon- I just got an email from Critic's Choice concerning my order. The other two movies are listed as "in stock", but M. Hulot's Holiday is "backordered", so perhaps it hasn't been released quite yet?
  23. I agree. The whole concept seems to come up a bit short.
  24. Kevin, I don't mean to put down the man, and I harbor no grudges from the BNBB. I just know that it many businesses, the term "Vice President" is thrown around a bit casually. Kind of like the Army today, where you seem to have more Sergeants than Privates, you know? Nothing against Tom himself; he seemed like a genuinely nice person.
  25. Well, you certainly put my problems in perspective, Tom. My best wishes to you and your family; come back when you can.
