  1. Don't do that, Uncle Skid! I hate running with the herd!
  2. I find I do better on eBay if I just check out what's closing at the time and see if there's anything I want rather than looking for specific items. Although you do have to sort through a lot of crap that way...stuff like John Tesh in Jazz, things like that. But patience is definitely the key!
  3. Chris, I can fall asleep in the afternoon listening to jazz (my wife hasn't thought of me the same since she came home to me sawing logs on the couch with For Adolphe Sax blasting out of the stereo...), but I can't fall asleep to jazz at night; I'll lay there listening to every note. Besides, there's a limited amount of jazz I can listen to in the same room as the wife. We're more likely to have Steve Roach playing for "fall asleep music".
  4. I wish I could help; I can't believe I still haven't picked this up!
  5. As long as you don't find too many candles on your cake, it's a good one! Happy birthday!
  6. Free for All, I know exactly what you mean. I always slept with a fan on, year round. I like a room as cold as possible. There's no sleep like the sleep under a ton of blankets! The wife on the other hand likes dead silence and warmth. So we compromised. She got her way, and I shut up. I'll be damned if we're going the seperate bed routine. Lucy and Ricky we ain't...
  7. 9:30 to 10 or so, up at 5:45 in the morning. Although I also slip back into "nite owl" mode on vacation. I just can't hack doing it on weekends any more and make it back to work in one piece. The price of age, I'm afraid...
  8. Hmmm...that vibrating razor thing scares me as well, Russell; exactly what the heck are these guys shaving??
  9. I predict that the 200,000th post has already been posted. As soon as Rooster Ties finishes that 99,963rd edit, we'll be there!
  10. Guess I'd better set my clock this time...
  11. I just woke up from a nap; how close are we? Boy, I can't wait! I sure don't want to miss this one! Wow, is this exciting or what?? What? What's everyone looking at?
  12. Just a momentary problem, guys; Shirley Maclaine was giving me channelling lessons... Does anyone else think "Quentin of Dark Shadows" when they see that photo?
  13. hutch head, I have mixed emotions on that one. Accepted eBay procedure is to contact the seller and try to resolve the issue BEFORE leaving feedback. On the other hand, there seem to be more and more dealers that sell junk, assuming they can always refund to the complainers and knowing that most won't complain. Yes, you should have tried to resolve the issue. On the other hand, letting people know the guy overgrades can't be all bad... One thing everyone should keep in mind with feedback is that if you just buy and don't sell, it really doesn't mean a damned thing. Even if a seller retaliates with a negative, at worse it just means you have to learn to snipe...
  14. Yeah, Happy Birthday, "legion"; hope lots o' Norah Jones discs are waiting to be unwrapped!
  15. I never thought of that. As a service to any here who are in that situation, let me assure you that it never does really make sense. In fact, it actually gets stranger...
  16. NO!!! We need Flesh Gordon released! Along with Dr. Flexi Jerkoff and the rampaging penisaurus!!
  17. It's the announcement of the Kenny G. Select with him playing over the Buddy Bolden cylinder that caught my attention...fortunately I woke up screaming at that point!
  18. And a very clean room, I'm sure... (Damn! You think you're picking an obscure group and this happens!! )
  19. I dunno; I got 3455, so maybe it's timing out?
  20. I didn't realize the Apu Trilogy had made it...I need to get out more!
  21. How typically ignorant of you Aggie87. Just because the mundane proles with little or no intelligence fail to recognize the absolute perfection that is SACD is no reason to believe that the format will fail to reach it's obvious place at the apex of recorded music. While you may sneer at the format, anyone with an ounce of rational thought is quite aware that SACD is the wave of the future. -always willing to lend a hand!
  22. So I assume you're all going to let the rest of us know what we missed?
  23. Thanks. Most 50s LPs I've seen (not a wide sample, I'll admit!) were white paper, so I wasn't sure.
  24. Why do I ask these questions?
  25. Jeez...the only one I've heard is #4!
