  1. I live under the flight pattern for Newark airport.
  2. Say...that's pretty cool. The guy with the red Strat is playing some hip shit and that orgone player looks very familiar...
  3. there's a joke in that phrase...I just don't know what it is. something unclean....
  4. Yeah, how about that. That was #4. I saw Cloud About Mercury at the Bottom Line, BLUE at the Kitting Factory, last nights show and this same band at 55 Bar four years ago. I think they're playing in Brooklyn next month, I'm pretty sure I'll catch that. I just thought of another one: Mark Isham Band at the Bottom Line w/David Torn and Terry Bozzio, years ago.
  5. Paul Schaefer did that to me a couple of times at a club a few years ago. That short little... Your beard may have been blocking his view. Ha! I started shaving that thing off a few years ago, makes me look old. Time for some new photos on the web site, but I want to get my weight back down to what you see in the photos!

  7. Nice. Did you ever hear the Tamburas of Pandi Pran Nath cd by La Monte Young? They love it because it's so in tune (it is, I've check it with a tuner). Anyways...I picked up my Riley CD, it's great to hear it again after so many years. It's a mellower, different approach than the kaleidoscope of Shri Camel. But then, all those organ/tape delay albums were not Shri Camel.
  8. Dam if I know. Any one I can think of was (I thought) doing it before 67.
  9. I'm pretty sure a musette is also a double reed instrument.
  10. Plenty. A Shenai is a double reed wind instrument like an oboe. A Shakuhachi is a flute. A Tarogato is a single reed instrument, sort of like a clarinet. They all sound pretty different to me.
  11. I've got a burn from the master of this (she's my friend's wife), and really dig it, moreso than the first one. Be curious to know what others think. I have to give it a few more listens, but I thought it's more live and spontaneous than the first one. I really dig it too. AAJ? I've met her a few times, but haven't talked to her in years. Great player!
  12. Man, this title cracks me up.
  13. Looks like I'll pick up a copy in the morning!
  14. 7/4, do you sing Indian classical music? About 6 years ago I took a bunch of lessons, but didn't stick with it. I'm just not much of a singer. It sure would be nice to have a tambura to play, they sound amazing.
  15. I have 'em on vinyl, but haven't heard them in years. Amazon just pushed back my delivery of this album - Delivery estimate: May 25, 2007 - June 11, 2007. I wonder if I can find it in NYC before they ship. I saw it in a local(Philly) store today. I'll probably end up killing the Amazon order and getting it locally. It would be typical for them to have issues with a small label.
  16. Yet, a lot of New Yorkers don't know it.
  17. That's exactly where I was going, unless DMG has it. I can wait for the CD.

  21. That's one thing that keeps me away, lack of real stories.
  22. It's been a few years since I've watched that show. They never seem to have an interesting program. LK is only as interesting as the programing. Couldn't give a dam about him.
