  1. McLean or Jenkins?
  2. I have the CD and get what you say, but I believe he became his own voice starting with "Let Freedom Ring" maybe a little before.
  3. Very much missed:
  4. I much miss the Connoisseur Series and Deep Grooves CD issues. So much has been released on vinyl now, in the right album sleeve artwork, down to the right catalogue number, it cringes my very fabric of the CD buying sector to the point I just largely stopped buying anything at all; blah. What about those listeners stuck with all these CD's, that would've loved to see such attention paid to details in the CD market? This is just a snippet of what I loathe of this vinyl outbreak. A total turnoff.
  5. This one
  6. Sounds like a great deal (pun intended).
  7. I actually like Chet's Pestige's very much, if they handsomely package this in a CD bundle, with original sleeve art, I'd buy it on the button.
  8. Capital owns Roulette, right? Why not the other 3 in the series (like Miles Davis' Snortin', Sweatin', Drinkin' series)? Weird.
  9. IMO, I place Genesis's up there with Rush's Released at about the same time (1979-80). (Pink Floyd's (Roger Water's solo record) The Wall of course, deserves mention) Brilliant records, not the very best, but pretty damn good.
  10. Initially wanted to talk about Genesis and Phil Collins, but here I am. Grew up listening to (wish you here 1975ish ) Pink Floyd, (the disco) Kiss and whatever else was on the radio. Music in the early 80's for me were The Police and late 70's Genesis when Phil Collins took over, and The Clash. Throw in Chuck Mangioni, and George Benson, rounds out my youthful listening experience.
  11. Late night, because I am still grading, with a host of other deadlines; so I put on this:
  12. 😎 Great record. One of Grant's best solos, IMO, is on Idle Moments.
  13. The Bethlehems! This one in particular:
  14. Maybe on to something, that could be a 2-CD set.
