  1. Jazzbo, thank you for sharing those personal thoughts, it gets hard around the holidays for me too. I lost both parents before I was 40, but so grateful my wife's parents are still here; a treat! They can be pains in the asses, but I wouldn't trade that in for anything. I wish you the best of holidays!
  2. Tina Brooks-The Waiting Game-BN Conn2002
  3. Great one! So happy to have found a used copy. Hutch and Land made sense. Tina convoy trucking through: back to the tracks (bn conn 1998)
  4. My family have attended Cliff Habian's holiday concerts for years. Great guys. Number one. Period. Charlie Brown Christmas. Grew up to it and nearly 50 years later, hands down, still my favorite.
  5. Became a staple in our Christmas listening, along with Charlie Brown's, for years.
  6. A few hours away from you, but we have snow, so you should too. Happy holidays! Harold Land is a treat and any record with BN Hutch is worth grabbing, but you probably already know this. Cheers!
  7. HAHA, got rid of that rag years ago. Pile of BS.
  8. No misunderstanding, we good. Just didn't agree with the critics, and I adore Richard Davis and Elvin Jones together, love it! And they like to smoke. Arguably, my favorite impulse! record jacket.
  9. Right? Never liked the Penguin review of this record. Tina Brooks marathon: True Blue-BN/RVG
  10. Now switching to Cavs/OSU games.
  11. Long meant tribute to a European giant (s): Fuck De Boere. Peter Brotzmann Group, 1970. FMP/UMS
  12. Ronnell Bright-Bright's Spot-Regent/Savoy
  13. John Benson Brook's Alabama Concerto featuring Cannonball Adderley and Art Farmer-Riverside/OJC limited edition.
  14. Elvin Jones/ Richard Davis-Heavy Sounds-impulse! Japanese reissue mini LP sleeve.
  15. Intents and Purposes-Bill Dixon Orchestra-RCA/Phonographic Still blown away with the details put into these reissues.
  16. Yep! Behind Compulsion!!! one of my favorite Andrew Hill records. Patrick Roques created, in my opinion, one of the best period Reid Miles looking like sleeve here. Now playing: !!!!Impulse!!!!Art Blakey!!!!Jazz Messengers!!!!
  17. Charlie Mingus-Tijuana Moods-RCA/Bluebird first editions
  18. Charlie Byrd-Bossa Nova Pelos Passaros-Riverside/K2 20bit
  19. Elvin Jones Revival. Live at Pookie's Pub. BN, Disk One. Clutch Joe Farrell!
  20. Yep. That's way hip. John McLaughlin. Where Fortune Smiles. Sanctuary/BMG
  21. The Thelonious Monk Orchestra at Town Hall-Riverside/OJC
  22. What a slick sleeve. Never heard the music, but now I want to. Listening to George Russell, The Jazz Workshop. RCA/Koch Jazz.
  23. Great photo, nice sleeve.
  24. Sweet to hear, and I have been lucky enough to pick up a few of those Japanese reissues (those late 60's, practically impossible BN BJP's are gems!) and some are at budget prices, but they seem to be in print only for a matter of minutes!
  25. Yep and yep. Put aside CD's for a moment, and allow me to vent about the Tone Poets. For decades, all I wanted was properly treated CD reissues, and the RVG's kinda did it for me, until that stopped (connoisseurs were gone by then) and if you don't have a turntable, you're screwed. I hate seeing all the properly done LP's that I drooled over, now not being reissued on CD. BS!!! Not fair!!!
