Picked up the mini-lp 2cd set of this one at Reckless Records in Chicago over the summer, great stuff👍 Never seen it on CD. Looks great!

Didn't Charles Gayle don makeup too for his shows?

What rock music are you listening to? Non-Jazz, Non-Classical.

Yeah, Neil is an essential part of Rush. So glad I got to see them with Neil. Irreplacable IMO. Led Zep reached the same conclusion when John Bonham died (though Jason has filled in for subsequent reunions).... Not going to pay somewhere nere a K for two tix to a Neil Peartless RUSH. -
🤘Have it on CD. Heavy Metal Brötz! 🤘

Thinking out loud, there's been many topics on those who engineer, produce, design, etc., all kinds of sessions. I say start a topic on Zev Feldman. We have topics on Ron McMaster v RVG, Creed Taylor v Bob Thiele, Reid Miles v Patrick Roques, Richard Bock, Michael Cuscana, Bob Weinstock, Teo Macero, Orin Keepnews, and onwards. Some like these individuals, some don't. Create a Zev Feldman thread and see where it goes. My suggestion.

Saw RUSH with Neil over a 30 year span. Hope this is going to be a great show, as ticket prices win here in Ohio ( 2 shows no less) and out-priced me. -

🤘My favorite Herbie BN. Getting prepped for the Herbie concert here in Cleveland November 4th: Hawkins Impulse!

Can someone explain the "Whistle Stop" connection to me? My scant research from Texas to maybe a significant landmark has landed me nowhere; so what is the whistle stop business and what is the connection with Kenny Dorham? And, I am also editing to include this quote at the end of the description above of the book: "his whistle stop in jazz history still echoing." What is "his" whistle stop? And don't tell me, well, read the book😄

Always thought Ace was the real talent, Gene, Paul and even Peter were okay (Gene being the worst). Saw KISS with and without makeup over a 30 year span (wow, when they decided to take the makeup off, I was like put it back on!). Caught Frehley's Comet at South Beach in '86 when I lived in Florida. Cool. I was in the first row, so the dry ice sent me into a desert-like state for days. I have great pictures (I'll try to upload them) and even got an Ace guitar pick.

Just read about this yesterday, so young. RIP.

Love the album sleeve alone! Speaking of sleeves, MUCH prefer the King over the RVG cover, but own both editions:

Grew up in the 70's and was very much into Bob James, Grover Washington Jr, Spyro Gyra, and Chuck Mangione. 60's Bob James? Wow. These are the only Bob James I kept.

To this day, I have no real idea about this record and if the band gells, nothing (and no, I won't cheat and listen to it on Youtube).
