Still upset about this. He was one of those actors, e.g., Tommy Lee Jones, Ed Harris, Woody Harrelson, Bruce Willis, who could act the everyday guy, like Popeye Doyle. Although retired for some time, still very missed.

Kenny Burrell - On View At The Five Spot Cafe (Complete?)

I'm cool with a Jackson/Lincoln or so (about what I paid for the Jones/Farrell and Henderson/Tyner). -
RIP to a genius at this game. Made it to the quarters at a chess tournament I organized at college. You wanna see the Fischer- Spassky showdown, see Pawn Sacrifice; a must see if you really enjoy chess! IMO, way better than Spiderman, Toby Maguire, should have won an Oscar for best actor, Liev Schreiber, best supporting actor.

Martin Heidegger and his student Karl Löwith had such a tumultuous relationship, yet still admired each other. Nicely rehearsed by a great historian of 19th-20th century Continental thinking.

100% agree with you, and growing up and having pets around me all my life, there is that bond between us and our pets, where I can't imagine doing something like this; but unfortunately, this stuff happens. From credible sources, the second two statements are true.

Met Lester Bowie, who was a guest lecturer at a jazz seminar I was taking (couldn't believe it, I skipped that class all the time, except this one). We had this great convo about how I heard elements of Chopin and other impressionist composers in his playing, which he seemed to appreciate. Deep dude. Sorely missed. For Lester. My favorite ECM by AEC:

Tina Brooks' BN records are all worth hearing. Such a short but brilliant career, so glad BN released the rest. Black History month can't go by until you hear the local Cleveland news finally recognizing Albert Ayler, who was one of the last featured Black people showcased here in February. Donald Ayler should be noted too, I met him at CIA during a screening of a doc on the avant guard back in 2003 or so. In my opinion, learning the trumpet so quickly to add to Ayler's sound, shows his devotion to his brother. Not polished by any stretch, but he's there, and the whole Impulse! fiasco lead to both of their demises. Sad. Now playing:

You're right, my numbers are off, it's 100,000,000 posts! Earlier yesterday morning, this great album was played and I I want to join and play it now, a stupendous record: Magnificent!

Dude, seems like you just won some major award for a million posts 😁

Awesome line-up. A West Coast session? Where and when she record with these dudes?

Never saw this one. Awesome, DSM sleeve! Right, that's the Columbia repackaging. I also got the session wrong , it's this:
-
Yeah, the Columbia is confusing, which I have, but I think (it's packed in a box) it's an Epic titled labeled "Tubbs" if memory serves me right.
-
I guess, I should've read the "and many more!" portion on the back of the box, lols. Dueling flutes make sense. I just bought the Kirk boxset last year, and never realized I have this session. I have to sort through it, as the jewel cases nor booklet make it an easy find.
-
Tubby and Kirk? I'm curious, impressions?
