Found this Carisi work quite accidentally (and on a album that seems to have otherwise been a Mike Abene-directed record). It's in character, generally, with his work on the Marvin Stamm Verve album, which is to say that if you don't listen closely, you could be forgiven for thinking that nothing's going on but the rent.
  3. The same is true of adultery, drug addiction, animal abuse, self-mutilation, and gee, what else?
  4. Ok, my bad, I think I'm thinking of two records by Burt Collins/Joe Shepley. https://www.discogs.com/artist/1794530-Collins-Shepley-Galaxy arrangements by Mike Abene and a cast of interesting players along the way.
  5. Hell, he played alto on a Gene Ammond date! Is the future so… empty qthat we have to devote our imaginative energies to creating an alternative history built on speculative non-events? Perhaps Wynton was a prophet after all!
  6. Big Nick!
  7. Are the Rangers even playing this year? It seems odd that as we begin July they’ve yet to play a game.
  8. It was Bill Watrous who allegedly said "if you're gonna play high, you need to practice high". Think about that. You think about that.
  9. I was about to bite the bullet and tug on the Teddy, but...not quite yet. Seeing a lot of sessions that look good-to-great, but nothing really "essential" at this point. Pretty sure this one's gonna be a Last-Chancer. I ordered the Savory, though, hell, how do you not? So far, I've gotten a notice that the order has been sent to the warehouse for processing, or some convoloted sequential, hell, I don't know. It'll get here. The shit, like, what, 80 years old? What's another week or two?
  10. I can't keep the labels striaght these days, is Elemental one of the good ones or one of the ones that, you know, fuck them, I'll get a burn from a friend? I see Cuscuna's name, so that is a strong indicator of legitimacy, right?
  11. It's probably not just you, but I really have no idea where you're coming from on that one. Sorry.

Nobody would ever accuse you of not being a fun guy, especially me. I make it a point to find the fun in everything and everybody, that's why I'm the beloved Peruvian folk hero that I am today,, it's all about the fun, tell me about it, I know, right?
  13. Dude, I worked hard to find a copy of that one in hopes that it would be akin to the Love Songs... followup, but it was not anything like that. I hated that it wasn't. Now, quiet as it's kept from even the internet, Danny Stiles also did an album with Walter Raim on MTA right around the same time. Good luck finding that one, I've all but given up. But if it's avant-garde elevator like the Watrous is, I want to hear it at least once.

It's the damn kids today, they don't have any idea that life is supposed to be angsty and shit, except for the ones hat do, and, you know, same as it ever was, fuck them, right? Emo motherfuckers got nowhere to go but down, just get it over with already, stop the whining already. Haha, look at Brian, smirk before breakfast, Pet Sounds before supper. There's a lesson for you kids, have fun while you can, because cocaine is one hell of a drug. But look - even that evil asshole Mike Love couldn't help but do some steps, hell, old people who forget the joys of just having the ability to move freely and exuberantly, what are you people living for?
  15. There's a dude named Jerry Jones that will be contacting you momentarily. Stand by...

WORD! You don't have to be hip to have fun...which drives the hip people crazy, but life is bigger than just hip. Although, once you get bugged driving up and down the same old strip, you will want to find a new place where the kids are hip. But ass long as you don't forget where you sarted from, that's cool (which is better/worse) than hip. Anyway, Cynthia & Jerry got a message.

No worries, they did the trying for you! All of it! It's like the realtor who planted flags in everybody's yard here over the weekend and then was online to accept all the thanks (and they were just a-gushing all over the place too). I'm like, sure dude, thank you indeed, now I can look patriotic and not have to gice a shit or do a thing, thank you for that. So, see, Grace & Leo (sounds like a pre-Beatles pop duo), they did all the exercising for you. In this heat, hey, grateful for small favors, etc.
  18. I really like the solo tracks on that album. or track, it's been a while. Either way, Chico Hamilton as a drummer is something to be reckoned with.

It, or something like it, should be incorporated into a Hollywood Musical, or whatever they make these days. And seriously, let's see them develop it out past just the two of them.
  20. Were they moaning or were they whining?
