  1. And easier done than said!!!
  2. A CD is available as soon as you download the files.
  3. He's certainly not wrong that the type of music he's highlighting was a bit lost in the shuffle at the time.
  4. Ok, here's what's going on - Jim A has put in place a time limit on when someone can edit a post. They can only edit a post 60 minutes after posting it initially. There was an internal matter, so if we have a lot of these unintended consequences, please raise your hand 8
  5. Can you at least get the edit function to drop down from the three dots? Looked at your profile and the thread itself and nothing looks amiss. Try the old value menu of clear cache and reboot.
  6. It should drop down from those three dots in the upper right corner of the post. Send me a link to the post in question and I'll take a look.
  7. You know what she did for me? She fixed me up a great big mess of collard greens. At least that's who she said she was. I should have asked for ID, but DAMN then greens smelled good.
  8. Hey Mahlerbro Man 😊 Do you know this record? https://www.allmusic.com/album/mahler-lieder-early-recordings-1915-1949-mw0001855892 I love it. It's got that real-time thing going on in a big way, both in performance and recording quality. Plus, it contains what I think is Jascha Horenstein's first recording. A lot of historical significance, but more than just that.

  10. Superior music
  11. When Jaap Van Zweden was here, the DSO programmed a LOT of Mahler (and Bruckner too). We had season tickets then,so it was truly a feast!
  12. You're around Atlanta, right? Does you local orchestra program a lot of Mahler. Recommended live!6
  13. The Swinging Swimming Family - Goin' Jumpin' In The Lake!!!
  14. A particularly meaty collection.
  15. The usual suspect, probably,?
  16. Individual performances are fine. The film as a whole is...I found it on a PD streaming service and there's a reason. It's got a truly bizarre backstory and as a result is full of some nasty racist/jingoistic snappiness. But hey, that's entertainment. It's not a bad film otherwise, but not as taut as Falcon. Do your homework before actually viewing it (including the original posters). And realize that is neither the first nor last use of mass entertainment as unapologetic propaganda.
  17. Sounds like Holman, whose writing almost always held up up to a heavier touch. But I could be wrong.
  18. That chart has an underlying aggressiveness that has me wasting to hear it played by a Buddy Rich band. I think it could hold up to the force quite nicely.
