  1. Far be it from me to fault any neologism, but I think I'd like "tanorexic" better than "tanoxeric", at least for now. Google, however, shows it both ways, so...further proof that language moves at the speed of soundlight speedshow.

  3. You'd think the batting coach would say: "Hey, he pitching inside, get off the plate a bit." I mean, if you're the Twins, how do you not get what the pitching pattern is? otoh, the Twins do not seem to be getting too much of anything these days...don't know what happened there...
  4. Those lefties must not have been up on the plate at all, if the location of some of those called strikes is accurate. I still don't know how much stock to put in those charts, but you see something like this and you gotta wonder "wtf?" in some form or fashion.

  6. Man, that's like the third no-no this year, isn't it? Combining those two trains of thought... It be's that way sometimes, no doubt. I'm just sayin'...

  9. Released on Casablanca (sic). Complete. LP. Worth looking for.
  10. Also this: From what I saw on the AMG New Releases newslettersheet, this one's being released on the Parlophone imprint. Sure, it's all EMI, but Parlophone was The Beatles, so...whatever. Also, can I say that it's getting harder and harder to read "music journalism" pieces such as this these days with anything but a detached amusement. It's like, subject matter has talking points, "journalist" reports same and throws in a few semi-relevant facts to make it look like they're doing actual work, talking points hit the press, and BAM here we all are talking about Don Was, The New Blue Note, and all this and all that. Anyway, I do think that Danger Mouse & Norah make a cute couple, and that they would make a great pair on Parks & Recreation should Aubrey Plaza & Chriss Pratt ever leave.
  11. Bernie made some legit sides? I was unaware! http://allmusic.com/...62196/biography I'll keep an eye open for some inexpensive copies. Looks like it could be some fun. Thanks for the tip!

  15. You don't remember "Out Come The Freaks"? Don't know if it ever crossed over or not, but it was big in the Disco/R&B/Funk/Etc circuit ca. 1981 or so. Freaks and Dinosaurs...sounds like my kind of artist roster!
  16. Charles Barnette Sangrey (son) Charles Albert Sangrey (father) Fred Sangrey (paternal grandfather no middle initial, apparently, but one hell of a master carpenter. He was the main guy on this project: http://www.svonline.net/~srfhs/story12.html I still have a handful of his tools...way cool stuff)
  17. You know how back before porn got kinda mainstream, and you'd know this guy who had the cheap stuff, the little 4mm reels where the guy was flabby and disinterested & the chick was like old and tired but still trying to look pretty and turned on and both of them really, really should have been doing something else with their life by this point, not just them, but the crew, the owner of the motel where they rented the room, everybody, but life does what it does, people choose how they choose, and if the scratches on this record = the fact that you and I all know what I'm talking about, there is still a market, and ultimately, the onus is as much on us as it is them to do something else, yet here we are. Nevertheless, here we are. You know how all that stuff just is? Well, there you have it.
