This is a fun time to be a Texas Rangers fan!

I've been listening to Gil's music for about 40 years now and there's still new things to hear, the way certain things will play off and inside of each other...one of a relative few participants in this music whose voice really does defy time and space, or at the very least, confronts them on terms of assumptions of facts not yet proven.

That is because thismusic is so loud when left unplayed that it ripped the shrinkwrap a wide open new one!

I find his time to be somewhat less than compelling. His left hand, though, is playing some nice harmonic things. This is the song that should never have been written. But since it was, and since it became the archetype that it did, it serves to reveal Satan's Great Plan For America - round and round in the same place, ever over and over, survival through smiling suffocation. Just as Louis Armstrong never heard no horse sing a song, I've never seen any spendable money that wasn't public in some form or fashion at one time or another. As much as I like the idea of subsidizing "the arts", I'm less than enamored with the bulk of the results. More often than not, it quite often doesn't result in more or better (or even newer) "art", it just replaces one marketplace with another, and a committee of five can be more ignorant and harmful than an audience of three. Gotta be some kind of better way. And how does Colby Lewis strike out 12 and give up 5 HRs in the same game? Never mind too little for too late, just how the hell does that happen?

For post-60s albums, procure this one by any means necessary: and of course, same thing with this one: Hell, I'll tell you to buy anything with Fathead's name on it, even the commercial crap.

And the blurb on YT says that she used to sing with Guy Lombardo before going to Goodman & Dameron. I thought the "played with both Lawrence Welk & Frank Zappa" club was exclusive, but THIS one, Guy Lombardo AND Tadd Dameron...maybe that's a party of one?
