  1. Yes.
  2. Red would let you sit in if you got the rec from somebody he trusted. I had been sitting in at the club (The Recovery Room) long enough so that I knew the scene and the various peoples, so it was cool. This was when he just kinda showed up when he felt like it, or called the club up and asked for a night. How was it having him comp behind you? Like walking barefoot on spring grass.
  3. Dootsie Bootsy Catfish
  4. Nope, still Rocco in both clips. Conte didn't come on until later 77 or 78. That is his cousin Bruce on guitar, though.
  5. Mars Bonfire Kenneth Mars The Mars Volta
  6. Glad some body got it. In the meantime, Dammit Darren Oliver (that's his real first name, check his birth certificate) is old enough to know better, and, increasingly, too old to do it. Q wasted 8th inning comeback (first time this year that we've mustered one that late) wasted by some old fucker who can't shut the door any more except every so every once in a while. You need more than every so every once in a while out of that role. Dammit. Oh well, CJ Wilson returns tomorrow & he's not had two bad outings in a row yet this year. Plus, a 3-2 loss against a very on Dan Heren would ordinarily be an "oh well" type game. Just not this time. Dammit Darren Oliver. Either get younger, get better, or else sell your soul to the devil until a deal or two can be made on the free market.
  7. Indeed it is, but...if this was real, it would've made all the sports shows by now, and...the commentary for the clip on YT pretty n=much breaks it down in a convincing (for me) manner, including something about Gilette. But yeh, my first response was HOLY SHOT! Called LTB into the room to look at it and everything.
  8. I'm glad he finally found his hat!
  9. Dawg Dude Dandy
  10. I sat in with him a few times. He pretty much played when he wanted to.
  11. I heard some thing of theirs off some Smithsonian thing not knowing who it was and I thought to myself that this explained why America invented the atomic bomb.
  12. OGANDO! Elvis Andrus homers off of Jared Weaver = life is good. Or better. Ian Kinsler is getting his stroke back too, which in the long haul makes it even more better. I watched Brooks Robinson play often enough when I was a kid, and I'm seeing Adrian Beltre make some Brooks-worthy plays over there, tonight included. It is a joy, I tell you. OGANDO! Julio Bourbon tweaked a hamstring, might be going on the DL. If so, the entire Rangers starting OF will be on the DL at the same time. Nothing left to do but show up and play baseball. I'm thinking I should maybe drive over to Frisco (up the street and 'round the corner, pretty much) and check out Leonys Martin. Who knows? OGANDO!

  14. Does a piano count as a music stand? I know a chair or a horn case can, in a pinch...so hey, why not.
  15. I believe it was, just as a 10" LP. The term "LP" was used to denote an "album" playing @ 33 1/3 playing speed, be it 10" or 12". So unless the COG material was originally released on 78s, your presumption is correct.
  16. Well, sure, that's what he's doing at the moment. But then he realizes the implications, looks at the band, and calls "Eager Beaver" for the block. X gets the square. Moderninity wins again!
  17. Minnehaha Hiawatha Donny Hathaway
  18. Ah, now it makes sense, maybe...they each had their won 10" covers & when they combined them onto a 12", they used the 10 ""This Modern World" cover...or else, if Rooster's mom had a 10" COG with the "graph" cover, maybe they both had that cover at some point before being combined onto the 12", kinda like Kent's Krazymusik Vols 1 & 2... It must've been confuisn to be a record buyr inthe early-mid 1950s. 78 & 45 singles, 45 EPs, 10" LPs 12" LPs, Kenton & Ellington on the same label, I mean, I feel the angst of the little man on the original COG cover, it's like "What am I going to do with all this....MODERNINITY?" Yeah, here this is:

  20. I'm thinking that a damn dog fart is just about the nastiest fart there is.
  21. Is that the catalog that comes on airplanes? If so, yes, my wife did, bought some CD shelves. They ended up being very good, we still have them and use them.
  22. I'm thinking that since fiber-optic internet saves so much time that it ends up costing more time. Oh well!
