  2. Julie London & Bobby Troup go up against Gil Favor & Rowdy Yates
  3. Ah, that probably explains the already deep group feel!
  4. The iCTI! is not iMONO!, correct? That would be wild, if there was such a thing.
  5. Ok then, I misread the Wikipedia article and other past browsings. My bad then.
  6. "of some note" is meant that he was known and respected for the level he was at. This is opposed to "of some renown", which I made it a point to not say.
  7. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2024/02/05/inside-the-music-industrys-high-stakes-ai-experiments Ready/Like it or not, here it comes. And UMG is looking to get paid when it gets here in force. If they can.
  8. Sue used to "rally" around beating the bootleggers, but a very limited edition on a niche format at a too-high price point kind makes me want to pull out my copies and share the files with the world. I won't, but this release sort of implicitly cedes victory to the "bootleggers" (I have never paid for any copies of this material btw)
  9. Supposed to have been a aDsily Motion video of a Hart to Hart episode guest starring David McCallum ( and Tipi Hedrin) but I guess that ain't happenin' here. Sorry.
  10. B. B. King also studied the Schillinger system.
  11. Tim Skittles - Are You Sure???
  12. It's a global sensation now!!!
  13. Al Morgan is a new name to me, and slap bass of that sort might not(?) have been spectacular by the standards of the day, but that one just leaped out at me for whatever reason. Al Morgan!!!
  14. Ok, thanks! Foots Thomas is a known, as are Barefield, Cheatham and Wright. No bassist listed though, which is a shame. Whoever this is deserves full credit!
  15. Galper it it is. The clip info says so!
  16. Sound quality improves as the set goes on, but...what label(s) did the first have or so of this collection? I would like to know who was in this early Calloway band. I only know of the later band with Chu, Hinton, and all them. This band here is pretty solid in its own right!
  17. I've read the book, time to see the movie!!!
  18. Listening to this now. First impression is that the band swings nicely, but the sound is, so far, very tinny. Is this the best it can be? Oh, where can I get personnel details for these sessions?
  19. Used to work with the CIA, from what I've heard...
  20. You'll want to remember that the photo file needs to end with a picture type extension like .jpg or .png in order for it to load here. And I'm really not sure what extensions WON'T load, to be honest. Nice looking dog!
  21. Roxane Berard, who was once married to Willie Dennis.
  22. That's Warren Smith, not Tony Williams, right?
