  1. Attention spans are like penises, some are longer than others.
  2. Ancient Dynasty with Joe, that's the one for me.
  3. Retired? Congratulations, for real!
  4. Hope all is well in Burrellworld!
  5. THE FIRST PUBLIC PERFORMANCE EVER, i WANT THIS RECORD: yeah, THIS record:
  6. Yep, and BH is on that one as well.
  7. Just so there's no misunderstanding - I was not implying - and certainly have no grounds to imply - that the issue was actually related to Feldman. It's just that, as CJ says, the jazz business is strange. Hell - life is strange. Just considering the variables between this and other projects involving posthumously released live Monk issues. You never know - it could be two assholes we know nothing about, never heard of, one at Sony, one at Whoeverthehellthey're called now. One might have burnt the other on a coke deal back in college and there's still bad blood there. Or it could be some prick who just wants to be an asshole because they can be. You never know, you really never know. Even if they tell you, you really never know. People lie and people create narratives and just all kinds of shit. Like they say, half of what you see, none of what you hear. So, you know, somebody grab this shit, leak it out, and then we can all buy it legit if/when it comes out legit. Let the gangstas do what the gangstas do, them and us alike. In the meanwhile time, y'all enjoy that complete Sonny Rollins Village Gate stuff. It's a motherfucker!
  8. Who did the old comedy sketch about trying to play baseball or something in a leper colony and body parts kept falling off?
  9. Masters also did one of/with Grachan Moncur III that is equally worthy.
  10. Both Discogs & Amazon have copies for sale. Maybe it's just me, but this is maybe one of the more "stealth" Billydates? Me finding it was completely on accident (as the kids like to say). But it is a really good record.
  11. Don't miss him (as sideman and Co-Producer) on Barney McAll's Widening Circles from 1998 (not released until) 2006. His participation is selective in placement, but always maximally effective. And the rest of the record ain't bad at all! https://www.discogs.com/Barney-McAll-Widening-Circles/release/14841186 https://www.amazon.com/Widening-Circles-Barney-Mcall/dp/B000CIXHT6 https://barneymcall.com/recordings/widening-circles/
  12. Just saying, you know, lives intertwine, maybe it's a revenge thing about some old girlfriend or shit like that. People don't necessarily lose their pettiness as they accrue their power. Could be anything, could be nothing. but the record's not coming out now, so somebody's looking to fuck somebody for some reason. That much seem obvious.
  13. Don't you know I care? That bridge....
  14. Don't know, maybe it's NOT a thing, or maybe they got blessings before releasing, I don't know...just trying to think of what cockblocktactic Sony might be employing, Or you never know about these things, maybe somebody's got it in for Feldman, one never knows about these things, one never really knows.
  15. What a great session in the studio this session in the studio was!
  16. What's the deal about it being when it was recorded, if the guy was under contract when it was recorded, the label has some kind of right of first refusal, or something like that? And it was all domestic, none of this Pan-Euro Radio thing.
  17. Sounds like The Jazz Detective maybe needs to hook up with A Jazz Lawyer going forth?
  18. Here's O.V. Wright.
  19. Hey, that's where the music is.
  20. oh my, sounds like you are doing some SERIOUS spelunking! hey, you gotta go where the stuff is. and sometimes that's where it is.
  21. Why do people not listen to FM Radio these days? I do in the car, it's a wonderful way to hear the limited versions of "White" pop music that exist these days, the seemingly unlimited types of "Hispanic" pop musics, a littles bit of sacred Hindu and secular Desi, and a little bit of everything else. When I want to hear what I want to hear, I play a CD. But when I want to know who and what all else is out there besides me, I play the car radio. It's fun, and often educational, especially the advertisements, who's selling what to who, and how they're doing it, how some products will just drop their English spots in verbatim, but others will get a campaign going specifically for the demographic. And of course, there's a "jazz station" an a "classical station", but....CDs for that.
  22. Maybe it's Florida that sucks?
  23. Not "great music", but plenty of great spots to make up for it.
