Grant Green: "Iron City"
chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez replied to Cliff Englewood's topic in Artists & Recordings
john patton is SO distinctive i dont see how we can not ID it correctly by ear. Maybe my ear isnt the best for the job but I do know from my love of organ jazz BJP is one of the MOST distintive sounds..........so unless he COMPLETELY ALTERED IS USUAL ORGAN SETTING FOR THIS DATE, im leaning toward someone else- Larry Young I dont know either why did his name even get thrown in to this, ill look back , but some people suggested a 3rd party, im not opposed......... -

THERE IS AN INSTRUMENT. IT IS CALLED THE TROMBONE. ONE PERSON EXCELLED ON IT ABOVE ALL OTHERS. HE CAME TO EARTH ON DECEMBER 15, 1934 BEING BORN IN DETROIT, MI- AND PROCEEDED TO PUT THAT CITY ON THE MAP AS FAR AS JAZZ IS CONCERNED. FOR POSITIVELY ALTERING THE COURSE OF HUMAN CIVILIZATION ON SUCH A PROFOUND LEVEL, HE WILL HAVE MANY WONDERFUL EXPERIENCES AWAITING HIM IN SPACE TODAY AND BE REUNITED WITH ALL HIS FELLOW GENIUS FRIENDS. HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY ALL WHO HEARD HIM

y'all like my new Edison Disc player??? Its a 1928 top of the line deluxe model, known as the "Shubert". I am making up for 20 years of passed up edison diamond discs by lunch time sunday. scored 40 today and if the ferry doesn't sink 59 more this weekend. I got it in here exactly 23 hours ago and ive been up ever since the information load is through the roof for this thing. Did you know edison recorded music by having the band play into a tunnel and it went down a 125 foot tube and they cut the disk at the end of the tube? and you thought RVG was nuts! its so amazing you guys here are my first demo videos -
