hes an LA jazz musican, i remember ten yrs ago, he flew up to do a gig w/ our university jazz ensemble- i'd never heard of the guy but he was on some zappa albums,- he was like an LA gangster, but i remember at the time i didnt take him so seriously, like pppfft, is this guy for real? basically this famous or almost famous jazz trumpter came up for like a whole week and chilled w/ me n my friends n stuff, and he was pretty out of control with us, good times

ok so i just got a red vinyl fantasy press of this and, so brubeck has said theres 3 lps hell never have reissued: this, jackpot, and last time/paris. the last 2 we know are soundquality, right- but w. the 1st one, the one i got (wilshire-ebell)...its a money thing, right? i notice the cover says: ''recorded under the personal supervision of richard bock- president, pacific jazz'-- it has somehin to do w/ that, huh. or wasnt someone day brubeck didnt even know this was being recorded or something? whats the skinny on this session, cause it sounds good, its a good concert
