  1. BRIAN AUGER & OBLIVION EXPRESS.......EARLIER TODAY............. ONE OF THE MOST HIGH ENERGY SHOWS IVE SEEN A WHILE, THEY COVERED FREEDOM JAZZ DANCE AND ALSO COMPARED TO WHAT, AND THEY COVERED THEM IN A VERY UNIQUE WAY, IT WAS VERY GOOD. THEIR COVER OF LIGHT MY FIRE, WAS ALSO VERY UNIQUE- THE SINGER WAS HIS DAUGHTER AND SHE WAS SPOT ON PERFECT AND VERY SOULFUL, AND HIS SON WAS ON DRUMS. GET THIS NOW:::::::::::::::::: THE BASS PLAYER, WAS **JOE SAMPLES** SON, NICK SAMPLE!! I ASKED NICK AS A MATTER OF FACT, WHY IS STIX NOT IN THE JAZZCRUSADERS REUNION, HE SAID: STIX JUST PRODUCES NOW, HE DOESNT PLAY ANYMORE
  2. these sound incredibly interesting i cant wait to listen to this, i groove to the music too much. i need to learn more about the circumstances and people. this will be perfect for that.
  3. just met Joe Sample's -son-, lol--- Nick Sample, i asked: why is stix not participatin in the jazz crusaders reunion? he said: stix just is producing now, he doesn't play any more. and i said, 'oh, producings good too....", lol
  4. i have it, i remember it as being good.......
  5. the other day at the record store they were playin a marc bolan interview/radio show or something. at the start the interviwer was all; "im michael cuscuna, and were here with marc bolan..." and they go on to do an extensive interview. i was all: !?!?!?
  6. the vinyl on this seems to ---look--- good (well see just how it really is when i play it)-- its very thick and heavy vinyl, akin dare i say to a lexington ave blue note, lol--- the real amazing thing is always finding a crown record you never knew existed. the discography only tells part of the story, but when you actually find one of these weird records, its really something. i found one the other day to, of popular movie themes done by a string orchestra-- the thing about crown records ive found out is you rarely see the same one twice. every time its a different album. i havent bought every single one ive seen, maybe i should of-- i am going to make a music documentary movie about crown!! oh and lets not forget about DISCOS CORONA, lol
  7. chuck thats interesting i wonder if its the same person-- probably, right-- well thanks all you guys hope you found it interesting didnt mean to cause trouble, oh yea i looked up the guitarist, a bio said he was with bob willis & the texas playboys, before going on to a studio carreer...hmmm....
  8. picked this up in the .50c bin, saying its the only existing copy in the universe might be a stetch, but ive absoutely never seen it before personally, thats for sure--- Bob Harrington Quartette- bobs on piano, w. jim wyble (guitar), red wooten (b), and two drummers are listen" john markham and lloyd morales does anyone know anything about these people or this lp! the cover is designed to look like one of those period pacific jazz artsy painting covers...... equally perplexing is this link to the mp3 page of this album, the fact that it is reissued is almost stranger than the lp itself....on this link you can also see the strange song titles .... http://music.napster.com/the-bob-harrington-quartet-music/album/jazz-a-la-carte/12206322#
  9. james moody my musical soul-brother, u know i dont have all yr records but we are from the same branch of the stick, u know that
  10. so many split albums.....good to see so many people participating....sorry to make you sweat, hope everybodys having fun
  11. would you guys say it was unusal for BN to split up dates, i mean, lee morgan never got that with his lps, but whats up w/ all the split mobley albums, the original NO ROOM, TURNAROUND, et al.....was that alfred lions decision, and why? i wonder why, cause, bluenote didnt do this to other albums, did they?
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9y39gqBBiSc !!!!!!!! YOU GOTTA SEE THIS !!!!!!!!

  15. u know it. this dave grusin cd-------> Dave Grusin on organ, 1968 w. Howard Roberts live at Donte's, its all legit, lol
  16. Dennis Wilson might not be on a phil collins level of drum performance - but he's was an incredibly gifted singer and songwriter!!!!!!!
  17. now that ive stopped listening to jazz-on-cd before 1980, i can truly appriciate how awesome this dave grusin cd is http://d.yimg.com/ec...ck=defaultImage incl lee ritenour, don grusin, steve gadd on drums....
  18. a word of warning to the consumer, if you are not hearing the cookbooks on vangelder stamp yellor or black n silver prestige labels, you are microwaving, not COOKING let alone COOKIN', anything---- if im gonna hear jazz on cd, im gonna listen to David Sanborn- Voyeur (this ultra-rare cd i recently got), i might also listen to Dave Grusin- out of the shadows. but cookin is NOT going to transfer the same way, it is impossible. you have to save up for a player and some speakers and then buy the vangelders. u will think u are in a live concert live in your place with lock & shirley
  19. i dont know why i always thought that too was live!!!!
