  1. oh wow yes that is such an interesting selection of shows for the early 70s-- that ray draper one-- that one looks amazing-- did he make records w/ that group? if so id love to check them out. also yea the lonnie liston w/ John Gilmore and Jazzbo (isnt that HAROLD alexander, eg from the big john patton albums!) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. They are playing late in the afternoon tmw but I either 1) need to drive all the way down to t-town and over the narrows bridge and up to pt. townsend, OR 2) go 25 mi. north and get on a FERRY and then continue on road over to the concert area//// i really wanna see west coast jazz legend GW but i am TOTALLY sketched about the ferry, i dont even have ferry insurance and if my car sunk on the notriously shoddy WA ferries i would be screwed. i want to see GW but i mapquested the whole trip and even though in miles it isnt far at all, its a logistical nightmere. plus its just local cats like bill ramsey and also ingrid jensen and etc, its not the original GW orch.--- however the man will be there conducting and of course its all his material--- but its also outdoors in the blazing heat: could i really even enjoy it in that setting (it is w.c.j. i know outside is good for that, but nonetheless)..... ....anyways it is a logistical nightmere and i have decided its a "no-go". ill just listen to the mosaic all day. but i do feel real bad

  4. maria schneider is the redhead to end all redheads/ but whats her music like? is it free jazz or regular?
  5. mc knows about the whole bn archive
  6. hey B, what AA album is this now? never heard of it-- what label now? is it available for order- what years it from?
  7. Trane's apex as an improvising jazz musican was on the 1960 european miles tour....it was all downhill from there
  8. what other people were on your show Jazz-set? ever going to do dvds of it?
  9. oh happy day- thank you for inquring for us-- yes i know were not expecting it to make the next reissue list, but were all im sure interested to hear what M.C. has to say about this one! many thanks again
  10. --perhaps Blue Note/Liberty/UA et al could not secure the rights somehow to release "something" and/or "let it rain"?????? perhaps???????
  11. UP for michael cuscusnsa, via kevin brannshan or whomever has his #--- lets just find out the basic info about this one--- after ten million q's about the tyrone wash. session cant we just ask him 5 questions about GREEN ACID?
  12. wasnt there a ron carter interview someone posted on her (given by the guy from the bad plus) and in it ron said that by far doug watkins was by far his favorite and the best bass player ever, even more than Mr PC--
  13. kevin brasshanan: when will u ask michael cuscuscusna about what this session is like, etc? we shgouold of done this Years ago!!!!
  14. jazzbo said just go to "options" and change the options-- BUT THE OPTIONS TAG DOESNT WORK ON MY BROWSER CAUSE I HAVE NO JAVA OR FANCY PULL TAB INTERNET THINGS ETC is there any other way to reset it all to make it like it used to be....

  16. ok NOW i see what that guy was freaking out about so hard: Let it Rain, Something....UNISSUED 70s GG STUDIO DATE? do you think t his one will ever see the "light of day"? I wanna hear GG do a funky organ version of let it rain sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad
  17. hey u guys: i saw this one day in the new additions pile/ only 3 big ones/ but i was unsure about it since i dont buy and jimmy records any more, but harold land and teddy edwards and blue mitchell, i mean god damn! but hey tell me straight up: hows this lp? does harold land get to solo? is it worth it just for that? is this essential 70s era w.c.j.?
  18. i love when i find stuff on the side of the road!!! T-town was all about it- glad to see germans do it too!
  19. i swear it sounds so familar, but i just cant put my finger on it: have any of you seen this commerical, is it like gene harris or something?
  20. chewys analysis: BN are still bastards for not issuing ALL takes of their classics albums. Would wouldn't want to hear sixteen different takes of CORNBREAD? every blue note cd could hypothetically be a 3 or 4 cd boxed set if they had the balls to do so--- the COMPLETE SOUL STATION SESSIONS, etc.....
  21. am i allowed to make Dorothy Ashby- "Hip Harp" an -honorary- West Coast Jazz record?
  22. nice to meet you as well: i applaud your efforts to further the good name of West Coast Jazz across the land. I await info on your new cd releases as well. The great thing about w.c.j. is that there is SO much of it-- the bad thing is so much has never been reissued.
  23. havent any of you guys ever read any of my previous posts ever over the last 10 years? does chewy ever talk about profit margins? how can you mistake that rant for a chewy-rant? i would of just said: "For shame Bluenote, for shame"
