  1. Yes a good one. Have this CD with a slightly different coverart. ---> "Eight Brothers" is printed in the lower right corner Here is another from the same source
  2. Some time ago I did reply to the topic of this thread. I am really a big band fan. I admit that BB are not too often discussed at Organissimo. Re your question: This is a nice west coast label ( Now SeaBreeze Jazz) and I have quite a bit of this label. Very good vinyl pressing quality and recently also CD's. If you are interested I can run a query from my Paradox database for you (pm if you wish) because its quite a list.
  3. some good music also here Great session - all 3 volumes
  4. Very nice reissue series from Fresh Sound. Have bought quite a bunch from this series of relatively unknown big bands Yes one of the best from them on Pacific Jazz
  5. There arent much Items to find him as leader. Have him on a Paul Horn LP and like what I hear. He was also with Shearing. How is this one?
  6. Thanks for your analysis. There are 3 volumes on vinyl from this session - "Thursday, Friday & Saturday Night". All recently issued on a CD box. As a member in another forum commented the order of tracks on the vinyls are not correct. However I am an Art Pepper fan and dont have complaints about this one.
  7. There exists a japanese 3 LP box "The Fifties" - The O. Peterson set with Barney Kessell is the highlight for me and a 4 CD Proper box
  8. I should give it a spin on this weekend too! Now on the TT
  9. Yes have 2 different vinyls - How many tracks on the CD?
  10. "Fire In The West" is also a Herb Geller recording
  11. Re Bill Smith / Jim Hall I like it very much. Bill Smith (William O Smith) was IMO member of the Brubeck Octet on Fantasy. He plays clarinet on this album. Jim Hall is always good. Monty Budwig on bass & Shelly Manne on drums rec. 1959 at Contemporarys. Engineer: Roy DuNann! Cant be better in sound quality
  12. RE: Stan Getz Have the 2 ROOST vinyls. No complaint. Does the CD sound differently?
  13. Agree to your analysis. Have several of his albums on vinyl. Smooth listening stuff. All 5 volumes are a very good listening stuff. Feldman with his block chords is tremendous.
  14. Melodia C60 22851 000 - Alexei Kuznetsov Quintet - Concert In The Olympic Village" - rec. 1984 - Engineer: L. Dolzhnikov
