  3. oh, and for cosmic humor i file my "religious" cd's in the same drawer as my "comedy" cds.
  4. i just ordered 2 more 3-drawer cd cabinets from caselogic. each drawer holds about 75 cd's (after first "decanting" them and putting them into "cd sleeves"). that will make 36 drawers for me. i organize my cd's first by catagory i.e.jazz, classical, rock, vocalists, ska, reggae, big band, misc etc.; and than alphabetically within each catagory. B) i wish i knew where to file my Jeanne Newhall cd.
  5. is this one of the boogaloo sisters?
  6. This is a great cd through and through. I picked it up for $6.99 in the local used cd store because i recognized the cover art from the jazz paintings thread. It is great and I have since played it over and over! There was a prior Thad Jones/Mel Lewis thread limited to the "Mosaic" so I thought i would start this one. Can anyone tell me why these guys never made it big? (or did they?!) This was my first TJ/ML cd, are there others out there as good as this one for me to check out? B)
  7. #666 is here! (kindofbluetrain)

  14. I just finished reading "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay" and thought that I would post a picture of a superhero. Batman was always my favorite. As Seinfeld said superheroes were not fantasy for 10 year old boys--they were options!
  15. no birthday today !
  16. I picked up this puppy in the "just in" bin at my local used cd store and it BLEW ME AWAY!!! James Carter's tribute to Django is INCREDIBLE!!!! On this cd he plays 4 different sax's: bass, tenor, soprano, and something called a "f mezzo saxaphone." Regina Carter on violin is SUPERB!! Jay Berliner & Romero Lubambo (both of whom are new to me) are excellent on guitar (steel string & nylon), as is Charlie Giordano on accordian. Do Not Wait! Get yourself a copy of this cd NOW!!!!!! B)
  17. yeah! what white lightning said! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! B)
