  9. Saw last saturday saw a formation led by fine saxophonist Chet Doxas including his brother Jim on drums and a bassist that i don't remember his name yhe band had a guest Tim Hagans on trumpet. Going to see an intriguing trio next saturday night on piano Steve Kuhn, on bass Steve Swallow and on drums Billy Drummond, little bit curious to see them how they gel together.

  11. Saw this movie a few months ago, my comments are burried somewhere in the film thread, she sure was a beautiful girl, enjoyed the somewhat naivety of this film. RP
  12. Some of the plastic sleeves, such as the ones sold by Jazzloft, do allow to keep the sides. This what i intend to do at least.
  13. Saw the video also, like someone said you can use some of your other jewel cd case as a marker. I also noticed that i have a lot of cds who are in a plastic case (like the Verve reeditions they did a few years ago) that i won't be able to put into those sleeves. Guess they'll be visual pointers to know where i'm at.
  14. Father Mackenzie Eleanor Rigby lonely people
  15. Not really sure in which section this thread belongs, none really fits the bill , since i'm basically asking for help and suggestions it made sense to put it here. Anyway, i've basically ran out of room to install shelves or storage units, plus the fact that i eventually will have to move in a smaller place obligates me to think about options about how to make my collection take less place as possible while still being safe and easy to reach when needed. I know they are stores who are selling are these cd sleeves that save space, are these viable options ? What are the best bargains if you go that way ? Does anyone besides me has this problem and how do they deal with it ?
  16. Is your family like the Jacksons of jazz, and if so who you feel you are more like: Tito or Jermaine ? ... i actually tried to add up a serious question but as usual i'm generally out of words when it comes to communicate with people who do artistic work. By the way despite my cheap shot, i'm not a Marsalis hater, there is a part of what he does that i enjoy and another part that i like less...
  17. Never cared much for the Don Wilkerson sessions, that's about it for me so far.
  18. RIP, a solid actor in an era when popular American cinema did not mean dumb cinema. He was involved in a lot of classics. It probably shows more about where i'm from but i can't help but to think of Slap Shot when the name Paul Newman comes up.

  25. Felt it was a good movie, is it their best no but is it better than the fare shown on screen hell yes. Enjoyed the acting of Pitt as a completely goofball character. On the laughaton meter, Big Lebowski is still my top. The only movie from the bros i did not care was intolerable cruelty, thought the title was a clue what it would feel to watch that movie.
