  3. Just saw a double bill on the Off jazz festival. Canadian pianist Steve Amirault duetted with bass player Jim Vivian. They played mostly ballads although Steve showed his stuff on a few solos. Litlle short as a set, way less than an hour Second part was a big band formed by young Jean-Nicolas Trottier who had an invited soloist a NewYorker called Evan Smith. Interesting arrangements played by a fine group of very young musicians, would guess that they're mostly in their twenties and in some case early twenties. Good swinging band with enthusiastic players. I guess the kids are alright.

  5. Apparently he would take Eto'o's spot who's rumoured to move out. Eto'o claims that he'll stay there but i wouldn't bet for it. Wonder who's Arsenal is going to get, very suprised by the relative small fee, wonder if there is something elseb going on between both teams.
  6. I do think that she is more important to the White Stripes sound than people think. As far as the sexiext drummer goes to Although Meg is pretty cute

  10. Nothing against New Bruswick premiers, but this game should end on a higher note than names of politicians.
  11. As the previous poster mentionned, it tends to happen in Cds that seem to cramp up too much music inside them. From memory, my JSP Louis Jordan set ,a few Proper set and i remember some of the cds in the complete Jazz at the Philarmonic on Verve box.
  12. The only Pac Man that is worth our time is this gentleman.
  13. Thought about it, and the problem appeared in the PC also.
  14. Started going to our jazz festival, listened to a few local band on the outside venue, started documenting myself about it, buying cds, developping a taste, learning about different styles et voilà. I can't say that one artist turned my eye more than any other, i just enjoyed hearing the sound of the music produced by these ensembles. It sounded and still sounds exciting, intriguing and enjoyed the effort you have to make to get into it Now, i can't stop... as i get older, i start enjoying more and more old time stuff, like pre second war music.
  15. In some cases the problem happens on different players, if i start buying a new player for each CD that throws a fit, i'm gonna run out of room.
  16. You're right in terms of overall quality, Allen has some weak tracks on her album, i think Mika is one of those artists who has a sound that you either love or want to beat the shit out of him.
  17. I have some cds although the surface looks great who have the following problems. Especially from those who have more than 70 minutes of music on them. Near the end of the of the CD, it starts to jump or blocks and stops on the same note. I've noticed a few Proper cd doing that, also i noticed some cds of my newest Ellington boxset are suffering the same fate. Anybody has a solution ?
  18. Van Basten, who's that girl in your avatar? The lovely Adriana Lima I think we're disgressing but i feel i'll be pardonned Absolutely. In which film does this card game take place? Yeah, I too would like to know it. Victoria's secret.
  19. I heard it on the music store, did not get the disease, little too much over the top for my tastes, i prefer Lily Allen.
  20. This weekend was the last one in the Spanish championship, kind of weird that they took so long to complete it while the other main domestic European championships have been completed a good while ago. Anyway there was a lot of suspense with three teams having still a chance to take the title. Real Madrid and Barcelona were head to head with the same number of points while Sevilla still was in striking distance but needed way too much help. While having the same number of points the Madrid side had the edge in the tiebraker department, so it meant that Barca had to do better than the Real to get away with the title. Matchup wise Madrid was receiving Mallorca a decent mid-table team while Barca had to go on the road but against future second division weaklings Gymnastic. To make matters even worse for nervous fans of those teams as it is the tradition, those games were being played simultaneously. Things started very badly for the Real when at the 16th minute the away side took advantage of a breakdown in the Real defense to take the lead. Then ithey became bleak when it was goals gallore for the Barcelona team with three goals in the first half. It did not help that the visitors were doing a fine job defending their lead. In the second half, the home side started to play a little better, Robinho had a few chance to put his side on the scoreboard but came out short. Late sub and loaned out Gunner Reyes was able to put one through and the game went from frantic to wild with both teams playing with reckless abandon. However with Madrid smelling blood and the visitors feeling the pressure, you could guess that it was going to be Madrid's night. About five minutes later Diarra headed a corner kick through the keeper and the Real just like that had gotten back their lead and you knew that there was no way that their opponents would come back from that. For their arch-rivals the trouncing of Gymnastic was all for naught. Another great memorable evening for Real fans and another bitter night for the Catalan side, this is what the beautiful game will do to you.
