  1. I wish Ken Burns had done this so we could all pile on and hate it.
  2. Sounds like they might have been safer and easier to find in Iron Mountain.
  3. One can get over 30 min. pre LP side, but the sound generally suffers for it, with decreased bass frequencies (at least) because the grooves - technically "groove" - need to be made closer together.

    Moby Grape

No, not really. Their first album is brilliant beyond all reason, but it seriously drops off after that. Still, this is very good news!
  5. Because of the kids we eat out at a lot of family type chains and a few of the more unusual burgers I really dig are... The Peppercorn burger at Red Robin The Hawaiian at Islands The Jack Daniels burger at Fridays and, in Arizona, I recently had a yummy pesto-mozza burger at Applebys
  6. Don't try - it's all revolting. Pineapple on a burger can be delicious. I love the Hawaiian (pineapple-Teriyaki-swiss) burger at Islands.
  7. Not sure, but it is pretty good. Guy In & Out never impressed me much when out west. One chain that did though, was Fatburger. Some good-a-burgers can be found in Queens at Donovan's Pub in both Woodside and Bayside. Bosna-Express in Ridgewood was recommened by clementine and it lived up to the hype. When in Brooklyn, check out Dumont, or Peter Luger if you dare. Yep, Fatburger beats In 'n' Out all to hell.
  8. Personally I find the American version much funnier/better than the British verson...
  9. There's irony for you!
  10. Yeah, but if you switch the TV to ESPN, you can choose either Michael Jordan or Larry Bird to throw the plane even further - "nothing but net" - thereby reach 481.7 meters.
  11. Supposed to see Cedar Walton at a free outdoor gig at Hollywood & Highland tonight!

Second that Watkins OJC disc. It's long been a favorite.
  13. Just received 11 OJCs from Newberry - 9 of them "limited editions" - for $51 shipped. Check out their free shipping special in their Ebay store.
  14. If I'd spent my music money "more productively" over the years I'd have half the CDs I have now but would have visited Europe a few more times.
  15. Punctuation and syntax is much better than expected for such a silly rant.
  16. I'm kinda worried, Dan, that you recognize it as Mork and Mindy music!

  18. Yeah, I generally condemn violence but... http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/Entertainment...rtman_hex/1424/
  19. first thing that popped up on Google... http://gwpapers.virginia.edu/articles/news/nytimes.html
  20. I think it has less to do with defending Jarrett than in trying to figure out what cypher is talking about.
  21. Atomic in Burbank, CD Trader in Reseda. Possibly Poo-Bah's in Pasadena (though I haven't been there in years). Drop me a line if you want to hook up at Amoeba or Rockaway as they're both near me. I love Rockaway but they're past their prime; deals are good but selection is very hit or miss.
  22. Sampled a bunch of these over the last day or so and that Malcolm Braff disc is a killer. My favorite so far, by far. A lot has to do with Alex Blake, but I'd love to hear more of his stuff.
  23. And i hear he made a fine mint julep.
