  1. Why start there? The invention of the microphone allowed for manipulation of sonic reality. You otherwise couldn't hear a singer quietly singing in front of a large band.
  2. I'll be the outlier. I LOVE AI-created music. It is like music I hear when I'm dreaming. A friend sent some links to some AI-generated Beatles, and I thought it was far more compelling than anything the real Beatles ever did, with the possible exception of "Revolution 9."
  3. With the upgrade, can I be digitally slimmed down, like Shatner in the first Star Trek film?
  4. I would be reluctant to go on any cruise, regardless of theme, based on cruise-related health issues that have been reported in recent years.
  5. Right, but I'm saying I may have done likewise if I were Mr. Goldberg.
  6. If the spindle on your Nitty Gritty ever breaks, which it probably will sooner or later, there is a much more durable (and cheaper) hack than buying their replacement spindle, which will only break again. Shoot me a PM if you are interested.
  7. By the way, if the spindle on your Nitty Gritty ever breaks, there is a much more durable (and cheaper) hack than buying their replacement spindle, which will only break again. Shoot me a PM if you are interested.
  8. If I were Goldberg, I might opt for the countertops also.
  9. It was nice of Disney to put 1 dot on side-1 labels and 2 dots on side-2 labels for little kids who couldn't read yet. I was one of those little kids.
  10. It follows (2014), a far-above-average horror flick.
  11. He also arranged some of Martin Denny's "ghost" LPs from the 1960s.
  12. No idea, but it appears that the people screaming the loudest about the cancellation don't understand that terrestrial radio is no longer the only game in town.
  13. WUSF will have a 24-hour all-jazz digital station, which is the way things are moving anyway, so no loss.
  14. Has it changed that much in five years? At a vinyl sale we had 5 years ago, it was all 20- or 30-somethings.
  15. We just watched a great classic noir, The Red House, with a young Julie London, and a fantastic score by Miklos Rozsa!
  16. I can imagine. People are usually finished running errands by 4 pm, and are not yet getting ready to go out for the evening.
  17. Too bad. That is one of a core group of albums that formed my aesthetic of what "rock" played by jazz musicians should sound like. Another is the Bob Thiele Light My Fire album with the killer version of "Eight Miles High." And the Maynard album with "Chili Nata."
  18. Will it have Moog interludes between tunes, like his White Album cover album? No Moog, no sale.
  19. A decent play copy, not pristine. No deep scratches IIRC but superficial marks. The spindle on my Nitty Gritty cleaner just broke at the worst possible time. When I get the replacement part, I'll give it a scrub and report back.
