I could not find a thread on this; apologies if there are others. I've been on a Clifford Brown jag, and had forgotten that this box set sadly places alternate takes beside master takes. So, I burned my own versions of discs 1 and 2. My version of disc 1 includes master takes from the actual disc one, and alternates from disc 2. My disc 2 contains master takes from actual disc 2 and alternates from disc 1. The only track that is repeated is one that has 3 takes. This is a much more satisfying way to listen to this music.

When piano trios were popular, I think Ahmad Jamal filled a void between the more commercial trios like the Three Sounds, Ramsey Lewis, and the more "artsy" trios such as Bill Evans. Feel free to push back on that assessment if I am mistaken. Poinciana:

Thanks. The CD that I have includes the color (stereo) cover art, but includes the mono album and another dozen stray tracks. The running order is all messed up also. I had to burn my own version to recreate the 12" album.
